Dear Chuck Schumer, Hi. Black dude here. I can trace my family ancestry to slavery. I even know where they were slaves. My mom experienced Jim Crow. I think I’ve watched every episode of “Eyes On the Prize” when I was younger. With that said… Can you directly explain to me how the SAVE Act is “Jim Crow 2.0?” Literally every black person I know has ID. Literally every black person I know has a car or at least a ride. Literally every black person I know knows how to vote (well… except the ones with felonies… but they don’t count). With your advanced white liberal thinking, you must know more than me. Apparently, as I experience daily on this app, white liberals are experts on being black; even more so than actual black folks. Perhaps you could explain it like I’m five. I’d look it up on the internet, but Kathy Hochul has already told me I don’t know what a computer is and Joe Biden said I can’t navigate it, anyway. Looking forward to your answer. No hugs. Zeek

@wesbury 12 was a big one. WLS would announce what songs were coming up over the next hour, and you'd sit with your finger on the record button waiting for the song to start.

If you want to know why Donald Trump was elected, watch Barack Obama’s attack speech yesterday at Jesse Jackson’s funeral. As he did throughout his presidency, he created a straw man to describe Republicans as bigots who force the American people to “turn on each other”. He said similar crap when he was President and the GOP was the party of Bush, McCain and Romney. It’s the language of bitterness and resentment that makes good people recoil to be described that way. Obama is one of the most divisive figures in US history, except he is celebrated by the MSM because they are partisans. They take sides and loved and protected Obama. It’s no wonder a tough, no BS, bull in the China shop emerged. That person was a fed up Trump, who broke the MSM by not caring what they thought. He showed Rs they could punch back against the Ds and win. His rise coincided with the welcome birth, at long last, of conservative media which gave voice to the voiceless who had been forced to consume the prejudices of the MSM. I can’t stand Obama. He was weak, patronizing, condescending and he put America last. But having listened to him yesterday, I reminded the only good thing he did was help elect President Trump.

.@NotreDame Athletics Director Pete Bevacqua: "I think everybody around this table knows that we need help to straighten this out... [college football] has become a runaway financial train, and if it continues to be that way, even the healthiest of universities are going to have to make incredibly difficult decisions—decisions that are going to impact women’s sports and olympic sports. There’s simply no way around that. So we need regulations... we need financial transparency and we need repercussions."

.@POTUS hosts a Saving College Sports roundtable: "We're gathered today to discuss an important threat to the integrity and culture of college sports: the inability to set rules on eligibility, transfers, Name, Image, and Likeness... this has grown into a major challenge."

People who’ve never served are often the quickest to start dropping bombs without a plan for what’s next. The American people have seen this play out before and they’re tired of it. Trump is sending our servicemembers into harm’s way without a clear explanation or an end goal.

In a statement to CBS News, former Vice President Kamala Harris called the major military operation against Iran early Saturday by the U.S. and Israel a “dangerous and unnecessary gamble with American lives.” Full statement: “Donald Trump is dragging the United States into a war the American people do not want. Let me be clear: I am opposed to a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for the sake of Trump’s war of choice. This is a dangerous and unnecessary gamble with American lives that also jeopardizes stability in the region and our standing in the world. What we are witnessing is not strength. It is recklessness dressed up as resolve. I know the threat that Iran poses, and they must never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon, but this is not the way to dismantle that threat. During the campaign, Donald Trump promised to end wars rather than start them. It was a lie. Then last year, he said “we obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program. That, too, was a lie. And let us all be clear-eyed about what comes next. The President has already said this conflict may produce American casualties. Doug and I will be praying for all of our brave servicemen and women, who we know are undertaking dangerous missions with exceptional skill, discipline, and precision. Our troops deserve a Commander-in-Chief who approaches decisions on matters of war and peace with the same steadiness and discipline our troops show every day. Under the Constitution of the United States, the President must receive authorization from Congress to enter a war. But even if he had, that does not change the fact this action is unwise, unjustified, and not supported by the American people. There can be no equivocation in our opposition to Donald Trump’s war of choice, and Congress must use all available power to prevent him from further committing us to this conflict. Our troops, our allies, and the American people deserve nothing less.”

If I was a young dad again, there are five things I’d do differently. 1️⃣ I’d stay away from travel sports. Not going to say it was a waste of time and money (it wasn’t), but it cost too much time and money. The opportunity cost was big. Lots of ways we could have been spending our time away from hot, dusty fields. 2️⃣ We should have travelled more often. We had some amazing trips, but we should have taken more of them. And it didn’t require traveling to the other side of the world. Lots of amazing places nearby we could have explored. Travel is such an amazing way to share experiences and strengthen bonds. 3️⃣ I stuck with miserable jobs (and startups) for too long. I know this took more of a toll on the kids than I realized at the time. I’m not good at keeping work at the office, and sticking w bad situations for too long seeped into who I was at home. Not in terrible ways, but via negativity that wasn’t good modeling for the boys. 4️⃣ Let them be kids for a while. I think I felt too firmly that the world is a rough place and that they needed to understand that fact. It’s true, fine, but I think I tried, unnecessarily, to teach some of those lessons too early. 5️⃣ Shut up and listen. I’m a talker, and in many ways that has served me well. But with the boys, I think just sitting and listening - really listening - was something I didn’t do often enough. Not everything needs to be teaching them a lesson. Sit, listen, and you’ll be surprised by the lessons they teach you. Net net, I think I did a pretty solid job, but there’s always big room for improvement. One’s now graduated college, the other is in the thick of it, and they’re both smart, kind, strong and decent men. I’m truly blessed. 🙏 For those of you on the young Dad path now, hope some of these things land.

All @PressSec does is lie and gaslight. The SAVE Act requires a paper birth certificate or passport to register to vote. Almost 50% of Americans don’t have a passport. Millions more don’t have their paper birth certificate. All told, more than 21 million Americans could be disenfranchised. This is why the SAVE Act is dead on arrival in the Senate. Do not listen to the Republican lies. Senate Democrats will continue to fight for the right to vote for all eligible American citizens.

Not only did the @NDlacrosse break the all time goals record in a game in program history, but they also broke the record for most points in a game with 48 today! The previous record was 46 at Denver in 1992! #GoIrish☘️

If I woke up 20 pounds overweight and needed to lose it all by summer, this is EXACTLY what I'd do: 1. Stop eating at least 3-5 hours before bed. Set a hard stop. This prevents horrible food decisions and improves the quality of your sleep, which regulates hunger the next day.

It was not "brave" to compete with a ruptured ACL. It was hubris and ego and horrible judgment. When I heard she was skiing on a torn ACL I thought to myself "she's going to fall". A fall like what she just had could impact her for life. I have so many friends who have spent months on crutches and years in pain due to ACL tears. I hope everybody watching does some soul searching on how we just let an American heroine and top athlete put their future mobility at risk -- and everybody applauded her. She may be limping for life after that fall. apple.news/AI9dNuUW-TX-jQ…
