I would say in @volklub style, eat 2 roti less but at least visit 1 civilised country and see the quality of life, infra, pollution, cleanliness etc and try to be civilise like them.

Can't agree more. I 've taken 50 + domestic flights last 10 months on Air India & about half the number on Indigo and AI is streets ahead in their service levels , quality of food & even punctuality. Once the new aircrafts are in, AI will be the game to beat for business travel.

There is so much recent negativity about @airindia that I want to put this out. I have taken 3 flights on @airindia in the last three days. On Wednesday:Rome to Del On Thursday: Del to Bom On Friday: Bom to Del In every single case the flight was on time. The inflight service was warm & efficient. Luggage came relatively quickly (quickest in Del) The check in was entirely painless I don’t think frequent travellers care as much as others about airline food but if you think that’s important then I had a very good dinner on Rome to Del. On the international sector I flew one of the older Dreamliners & I am not one of those aeroplane nerds but I thought it was very comfortable. It’s second nature for many of us to bitch about @airindia but it’s one of only two international airlines I fly regularly. The other is @emirates which admittedly is far better ( & far more expensive) but it is the best airline in the world so it’s better than every other carrier anyway. The Tatas need to hold their nerve. There is a lot that is good about @airindia that rarely gets acknowledged @TataCompanies

One of my friends from Kerala told me that if you hire a cab there and visit your relatives, the driver is also invited to dine at the same table as everyone else. Furthermore, this sense of equality extends to restaurants as well. I truly hope this is true; it is beautiful if it is, especially since we see so much classism and mistreatment of drivers, domestic helpers, and other professionals in the rest of India.

@SarangSood Vehicle PUC testing in India has become more of a paperwork exercise than a genuine pollution control system.
If visibly smoking vehicles can still pass, and certificates can be bought without proper testing, then the system needs to change.
