Tickets at 25000 - 80000 is not it, how do you lock out most innovaters and expect to grow the economy purely based on corporates who can afford this. @MoICTKenya @CAS2025_ you should at least even have student passes if not subsidized tickets for startups

A proposal has been tabled to amend Sec34 (1,a) of the VAT Act & do away with the Kes 5.0 Million annual turnover for VAT registration. The Kenya Revenue Authority argues that doing away with the threshold & making VAT registration apply to all (businesses & non-PAYE income earning individuals) will address the estimated 38.0% VAT collections gap & lift collections from Kes 653.0 billion to > Kes 1.03 trillion. If the proposal is adopted, it will be a radical departure from the Medium-term Revenue Strategy 2024/25 – 2026/27 which proposed to increase the VAT registration threshold in a bid to make tax compliance a lot easier. we did a similar POC in 2018 for a client and the 4 cows we ear tagged were stolen the day the investor came.
the client pivoted their entire deck to a gig marketplace for connecting farmers with local herdsmen.
i wonder if someone else would do sth complementary to this.

Farmer pays $5–$8 per cow per month. A New Zealand company puts a solar-powered smart collar on cows. It tracks location 24/7, health, temperature, chewing activity, breeding. Farmer just opens a simple app and draws a line on the map. That line becomes the fence. As cows approach the boundary, the collar beeps and vibrates. With one tap, the whole herd moves to fresh grass or the milking shed. No physical fences. Less labor. Huge cost savings for farmer. Already on 700k cows across New Zealand, Australia, and the US. and now in talks to raise at a $2B valuation led by Peter Thiel.
