Eyes on Iran once again. Things may be coming, but we don’t know what or when. Signals are still limited. Flight cancellations are one sign, but far from the full picture much more would need to happen to confirm anything.
Compared to a week ago, readiness and activity are higher. As I mentioned last week, exercise caution with reports of explosions or unusual activity. Communication is limited inside Iran, and misinformation spreads fast. Stay alert, but don’t jump to conclusions.🙋♂️

literally noone with any credibility claimed that the car wasnt driving autonomously before.
I very much agree that it is great for rider experience, i just question how big of a step this actually is.
It doesnt seem to be as big as a lot of people are claiming if Tesla is not yet confident enough to let the car out of their sight.

I've seen only 3 people (correct me if I'm wrong) claim to have gotten an unsupervised Robotaxi ride in Austin. Interestingly, at least two of them were able to get more than one ride. At the same time, there have been many people who have attempted to get unsupervised rides many times and haven't been successful at all.
Maybe only certain accounts are whitelisted like the initial rollout? Or could just be a coincidence and the unsupervised cars just aren't taking many rides and those individuals got very lucky.

@ICannot_Enough oh yea i mean i agree that its l4 and such but a team of employees following the car and "being available quickly to respond to problems that might occur" sounds a bit like supervising with extra steps.

The chase vehicle isn’t driving/controlling/supervising the unsupervised Level 4 Robotaxi in front of it.
It’s just available quickly if needed to respond to any problem that might occur.

Tesla is now doing some unsupervised rides in Austin!
As I predicted, it appears to be within a much tighter ODD (my guess, although not confirmed, is it is limited to South Austin) and only a subset of the fleet. Likely 2-3 cars right now.

Robotaxi rides without any safety monitors are now publicly available in Austin. Starting with a few unsupervised vehicles mixed in with the broader robotaxi fleet with safety monitors, and the ratio will increase over time.

@moritz_mbt @ethanmckanna It's surprisingly cautious/smart. Make sure nothing weird is going on and have an employee there if so. Require it for a bunch ofmiles then maybe do more like spot checking or in new areas or whatever.

Apart from stealing the pnl card that entire post is just slop. His example of the pope market is not even an arb.
This guy just bonded a basket of the perceived top canidates at 97.9 cents - a bet which would've ended up getting annihilated in this case... but he obviously never did that.
The bracket for the person who actually became pope wasnt added for the first 2 months of that market on poly (same as the "other" option ).
Kalshi never even had an "other" option and only top canidates were listed.
He just bonded the top canidates while incurring the risk that someone less prominent becomes pope - which ended up happening💀

October 24 / now that’s where things get interesting...
It all depends how far the investigation has gone, break it down:
> Number of suspects: 4 people, 2 on motorcycles and 2 using a lift
> Criminals: likely ex-special agents, the operation took only 7 minutes
> Evidence found:
1. Yellow construction vest: dropped by one of the robbers while escaping
2. Empress Eugénie’s crown: fell during their getaway
3. Two Yamaha bikes: cameras caught them heading toward the highway
So, for now, my prediction before October 24 is “NO”
Too little evidence, no info about the robbers, and the police seem lost
I’ll keep watching the news and tracking the betting %...
