Once took my son to an Opening Day game between the Red Sox and Yankees in the Bronx. Sat in the upper deck. Watched Yankee fans verbally abuse and then pour beer on men and women who were wearing Sox gear and in attendance with their children. Worst baseball fans I've encountered, and I've been to every MLB stadium save one. Hey, Wendell.
Wendell Pierce@WendellPierce

Unfortunately I just left the Yankees game because I was talking to a Dodgers fan and people were throwing things at me. Unruly, obnoxious people can ruin everything. The worst experience ever. The game and experience is of no significance now. The spirit of sports ends with the ugliness of humanity

Parker Valby has officially signed with New Balance and joined Team New Balance Boston. ✅ The next big question for coach Mark Coogan is how to adapt and evolve Valby’s famously low-mileage training heavy on cross-training to both keep her healthy and make her successful as a professional. But no matter the approach taken, there are going to be a lot of eyeballs watching as Valby adapts to a system that made Elle St. Pierre a global medal contender. Story here: citiusmag.com/articles/parke…

✍️ U.S. Olympian @parker_valby, who in June wrapped up a historic career at the University of Florida that included six NCAA titles, has signed a professional contract with New Balance. She will be training under coach @mark_coogan as a member of @Team_NB_Boston. 🗣️ “I am excited to join the New Balance family and train in Boston with such an incredible group of runners. Family is very important to me and it was very clear that New Balance was the brand for me and I can’t wait to get started,” Valby said. “Boston already feels like home and I am honored to start my professional career with a brand that wants to support my dreams on and off the track.” NEWS: citiusmag.com/articles/parke…

@CubsZone @Cubs what a night, we were up in what was then the 400s....the roof nearly came off the stadium. One of my favorite Cub moments ever.

8 years ago today, Miguel Montero crushed a pinch-hit Grand Slam in the bottom of the 8th inning in Game 1 of the 2016 NLCS against the Dodgers 💪🏼 Dexter Fowler followed up with a solo-shot to the right-field basket. Wrigley was ROCKING! (📸: @cubs)

@shreyas Henry Ford's 'if I asked people what they wanted, they'd have said faster horses' comes to mind. Talk to customers but the skill is distilling the feedback into solutions that actually solve customer problems and benefit the company.

Consider this: if “talk to customers” is the biggest secret to product success, then why aren’t more products successful? Why are so many founders unsuccessful? What explains PMs who’ve been talking to customers 5 times a week for years, without ever making products that win?

@ChrisChavez Same comments were raised when Kelvin Kiptum ran what was deemed as unrealistic times. Ruth has been running at a very high level for some time now with no suspicion

LetsRun’s Robert Johnson asked Ruth Chepngetich about her marathon world record of 2:09:56 in an era when Kenya is struggling with doping. Johnson: “Ruth, unfortunately in recent years there’s been a number of doping positives in Kenya. What would you say to someone who says when they see 2:09:56, ‘This is too good to be true. I have questions about it.” Chepngetich: “I don’t have any idea.” Johnson: “Some people may think that the time is too fast and you must be doping. What would you say to them?” Chepngetich: “You know people must talk but…people must talk so I don’t know.” #ChicagoMarathon

@ChrisChavez any concerns about Ruth's performance Chris? Anytime I see a record go by two minutes I wonder how.

10 days out from the Chicago Marathon, John Korir did a workout in Kenya called “The Signature” that had been drawn up by coach Ron Mann and Haron Lagat. It’s 4x400m; 3000m; 4x400m; 3000m; 4x400m – all with one minute recovery. Lagat says that Korir closed the last one in 8:09. The 400s were about 64s-65s. He used to run that last one in 8:30 to 8:15. His coaches have been telling him that he could run 2:02 and today it happened to win the Chicago Marathon. #ChicagoMarathon

Sharing this post that I saw on Blue Sky. As Milton bears down on Florida, and recovery continues from Helene, a good reminder that a large portion of the workforce that helps Americans recover from natural disasters are immigrants of all immigration statuses.

The GREAT Pete Rose just died. He was one of the most magnificent baseball players ever to play the game. He paid the price! Major League Baseball should have allowed him into the Hall of Fame many years ago. Do it now, before his funeral! DJT

@steeplechasing he has a tough trend to break. It rarely goes to one near the top of the weights. Still, you can argue he brings Grade 1 form to a handicap.

@Onthenoseinfo his excitement at securing a home draw speaks to the losing mentality that's resulted in him only scoring 100 goals in 105 games.

The negativity never ceases to amaze. A very good horse galloped today and a couple of thousand people enjoyed it live at a track that is normally desolate. Yes it’s hype. But surely good to engage racing fans with something new? Plenty will never have seen a gallop live before
