Thrilled to announce that our paper is now finally out! 🎉We combine scRNAseq, 2p imaging, ephys, and behavior to understand the role of lateral septal Nts neurons in opioid withdrawal. Curious about the septum and addiction? Give it a read👇 cell.com/neuron/fulltex…

Chk out our newest collab paper co-led w/ @tpatriarchi, & others. We developed & characterized a nociceptin opioid peptide sensor. Congrats to Xuehan, @carriestineUW (student in my lab) who co-led effort. DM to try. @NIMH @NIDAnews @NAPECenter Link: nature.com/articles/s4146…

Thrilled to show my recent work about the regulation of dorsolateral septum GLP-1R neurons on feeding behavior. In this work, we showed that dLS-GLP-1R neurons and the inhibitory pathway to LHA can regulate feeding behavior. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Happy to contribute to this special issue on the Hypothalamus and share my thoughts on neurocircuits for motivation. Lots of great reviews in this issue on the diversity of physiological and behavioral functions orchestrated by these critical brain structures!
Science Magazine@ScienceMagazine

The #hypothalamus plays a large role in coordinating the array of neuronal signals that are responsible for keeping the body in a stable state. A special issue of Science unpacks this key brain region’s impact on physiological and behavioral homeostasis. scim.ag/4AG
