@mpengelly85 Because English version of SAOT's graphics are ridiculously bad. They use super thick lines, they don't show the kickpoint and they don't move the image in line so we can actually see the offside. It does get calls wrong from time to time, but this wasn't one of them.

✅Second correct VAR intervention in the Manchester City vs. Aston Villa match. 📸Foden was slightly offside in the build-up to City's disallowed goal.

@FutOffsides ok, thank you. Why haven't the showed the digital image 'down the line' angle? That would perhaps make it clearer. The image they've used makes Foden look well onside.

@mpengelly85 It is not, that's just due to the perspective of that angle.

@davidcoldwell @woolyanna Boring though innit. Boxing is meant to be entertaining. Could've at least played along and give the fans something to cheer on. Instead of trying to be Mr Cool and saving face. Surely he's past that now after the amount of losses he's had. Disappointingly bland.

Once upon a time, not in some mythical golden age, but a perfectly normal Scotland about 20 years ago , basic things just worked. Getting your child into the local school wasn’t a battle. Getting a house didn’t require a decade of luck, debt, and divine intervention. Starting a business didn’t feel like trying to open a lemonade stand in North Korea. Finding a parking space didn’t require tactical planning and a support team. And getting a same‑day GP appointment didn’t feel like winning the national lottery. So what changed? @theSNP happened. We didn’t suddenly become less capable, less ambitious, or less deserving. The system did. It got slower, heavier, more bureaucratic, more expensive, and far more interested in managing decline than delivering improvement. We’ve normalised waiting lists, shortages, excuses, and “be grateful for what you get.” We’ve gone from a country that quietly got on with things to a country that can barely keep the basics functioning. The question isn’t what changed. It’s why we’re still pretending this is acceptable. #SNPOut

The most incredibly ironic part of Micky van de Ven's (correctly given) red card is that Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace & the whole football world were outraged about Maxence Lacroix's against Manchester United. Same interpretation of the rules, but it's the right decision now.

@TurkTalksFC Imagine being so gullible you think these players didn't have even a sip of water before a Premier League game. My goodness, the naivety of some people is incredible.

The funniest thing about the Ramadan break is people thinking these players haven't had a drink all day, before a Premier League match 😂 #LEEMCI

@DougieCritchley The arbiter of which delays are boo-able enters the room. Its shite, and everyone knows its shite. There's a 15 minute break at half time, eat and drink then!

You’ve got to be a special kind of idiot to jeer and boo a match being momentarily suspended so Muslim players can break fast during Ramadan. The amount of delays we have to endure in our game in 2026, for long throws, play acting and VAR.

@DaleJohnsonBBC @Matthew79421198 Only because he fouled in the first place. Requires nuance and equitable interpretation of the rules. It's like unjust enrichment in law. He benefitted from his foul despite not actually denying the goal. There's always more than one way to interpret rules.

Fans will hate it, pundits won't like it, and football will turn its nose up too. Yet when a goal is scored only because of a foul there is no way it could be allowed to stand. Analysis of Man City's VAR-disallowed goal at Liverpool. #LIVMCI 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

@gunnerpunner So one hand they accept he can't benefit from doing a foul himself, but in the end did benefit from succeeding in preventing City scoring a third goal. The law of equity would say he must 'come with clean hands', then we can say it was 50/50 no foul and goal given. Everyone happy

@gunnerpunner The logic feels circular though. They didn't give the free kick to Liverpool because Slob was only in the position to be fouled because he had fouled a moment earlier. Akin to the law of unjust enrichment. The interpretation of the rules is the problem.
