Voting today is especially meaningful. I get to vote with my parents, who became citizens after they gave up everything so that I could have opportunities they did not. And this year is the first year my aunt Corina is eligible to vote after waiting decades to become a citizen. For all those who hope for the day to cast a ballot, including my husband Boris and my uncle Chilano, I vote to honor you!
