Trump says the US is 'leaving soon' and has 'nothing to do' with the Strait. He started a war, lost it, closed the Strait, and now he's pretending it was never his problem. This is what failure looks like

NEWS: Judge Amit Mehta rules Trump is NOT immune for key Jan. 6 conduct—including his Ellipse rally speech, outreach to officials, and related actions—finding they can be treated as campaign activity, not presidential duties. That means civil lawsuits can move forward. The court also rejected Trump’s First Amendment defense and blocked a DOJ effort that could have shielded him from liability.

[Author waiting on my Anthopic Copyright settlement for my work they stole to train their plagiarism engine] Shucks. Darn.
Jeremy@Jeremybtc

Anthropic accidentally leaked their entire source code yesterday. What happened next is one of the most insane stories in tech history. > Anthropic pushed a software update for Claude Code at 4AM. > A debugging file was accidentally bundled inside it. > That file contained 512,000 lines of their proprietary source code. > A researcher named Chaofan Shou spotted it within minutes and posted the download link on X. > 21 million people have seen the thread. > The entire codebase was downloaded, copied and mirrored across GitHub before Anthropic's team had even woken up. > Anthropic pulled the package and started firing DMCA takedowns at every repo hosting it. > That's when a Korean developer named Sigrid Jin woke up at 4AM to his phone blowing up. > He is the most active Claude Code user in the world with the Wall Street Journal reporting he personally used 25 billion tokens last year. > His girlfriend was worried he'd get sued just for having the code on his machine. > So he did what any engineer would do. > He rewrote the entire thing in Python from scratch before sunrise. > Called it claw-code and Pushed it to GitHub. > A Python rewrite is a new creative work. DMCA can't touch it. > The repo hit 30,000 stars faster than any repository in GitHub history. > He wasn't satisfied. He started rewriting it again in Rust. > It now has 49,000 stars and 56,000 forks. > Someone mirrored the original to a decentralised platform with one message, "will never be taken down." > The code is now permanent. Anthropic cannot get it back. Anthropic built a system called Undercover Mode specifically to stop Claude from leaking internal secrets. Then they leaked their own source code themselves. You cannot make this up.

ICE detained and deported a man with severe mental disabilities, apparently gaining his "consent" for removal without notifying his caretakers. A judge has barred ICE from redetaining him when he returns from Mexico today. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

Did you know all of Congress is out-of-town for the next two weeks? They don't return until April 13th. Two weeks. Our military is on the verge of invading Iran. The TSA funding crisis hasn't been fully resolved. The economy is a ticking bomb. There's widespread corruption ongoing, notably in the odd correlation between foreign policy developments and unusually high wagers placed on them through betting markets right before they occur. And the Republican-led Congress just... left town. To be clear, it was already scheduled long ago. And to be fair, it's not like most senators and reps are solely doing vacations. Most are doing in-state work. But this feels like a really bad time to leave town, and instead of Republican leadership saying "hey, we're gonna nix this state work period for obvious reasons," they just... took off. You may be thinking: "Charlotte, you're being a bit unfair. Everyone needs time off." Thing is... they've already gotten a lot of time off this year. They got a whole week off in January. And another whole week off in February. The House is taking most of April, including the last week not long after they get back from this break. And then another in May and another in June and another in July. The Senate is taking off two weeks in May and basically the first two weeks in July. Both the House and Senate are taking off nearly all of August. And again, to be fair, much of this time is spent by most lawmakers doing work in their states. Fine. But doesn't feel like a really, really bad time to take a break from D.C., especially given the breaks that have already been taken and the breaks right around the corner? There are thousands of American ground troops being staged in the Middle East right now. Why is this Republican-led Congress on Spring Break?

EU officials rightly worry that the Greenland risk may actually increase after Trump’s failure in Iran, as Greenland would, militarily if not politically, be an easier win and show of force for a president seeking to recover damaged credibility 1/2

Pete Hegseth just unveiled “Greater North America.” A new strategic map — from Greenland to the Gulf of America — claiming every sovereign nation north of the equator is part of America’s security perimeter.
