After doing these video breakdowns for a couple months and hearing some of your suggestions, I’m excited to announce I’ve come up with a name for them and a YouTube channel to house them all on!
The AM Rewind is now live on YouTube and you can now find all videos uploaded there. I’ll continue to post here on X and looking into doing some shorter highlight videos as well as continuing the full breakdowns. Colleague @JoshYohe_PGH put out a poll on this. He had 9,753 voters, and 95 percent said they’d prefer 1/8, 2/7, 3/6, 4/5. I can’t remember 95 percent of hockey twitter agreeing on anything. The NHL’s marriage to its current format remains baffling.

Fair question, 80s into early 90s they had this format which no one really complained.
The issue is how the breakdown of games is structured. If you have more divisional games it would even out the races but they’ve kept the same outline on how many times you play a team.

@eoghanisowen Wheeler career 37.7% in shootout.
Including this year Scheifele is 34.3%. Connor 32%. Haven't looked closely to see if anything is changed this year.

@mremis Wheeler needs to come back & put a clinic on about the stupid slow to an almost stop goal which he was usually automatic on there for a while. I hate that goal, the shootout needs a chaser but it seems on average the highest % goal & I don't know why anybody does anything else.
