Huge victory for Paul Finch on behalf of his members. Major embarrassment for David Eby who claimed 4% was a fair offer that kept up with cost of living and government could not afford much more.

Nope, Lowan is correct.
There are 2 inflation measures, BC CPI and Average wage - gov offer falls below both.
Gov offer is 2% in '25 and 2% in '26. The 1% covers allowances, low wage redress, etc.
Talks broke off because we were willing to move but gov wasnt.

Two basic inaccuracies here - Lowan says the GEU is asking for an increase to cover inflation, but the gov's offer already matches inflation. The GEU is asking for increases beyond it. And the offer isn't 4%, it's 5% (not including low-wage redress, which isn't mentioned)
