1/ Why Cognitive Enhancement Is a Great DeSci Use Case The capabilities of DeSci extend far beyond merely funding research (either for purposes of replication or to produce original findings). Having said this, funding research is still a good use case, especially for certain verticals. For example, nootropics research is not well-funded by traditional institutions. Furthermore, even among the research occuring in traditional settings, the objects of study are far less sophisticated than what citizen scientists are doing on their own. This is extremely interesting: there is a complete mismatch between where the funding goes and where the innovation is. There are other verticals that share this property as well, but it is especially egregious for cognitive enhancement.

Can confirm. I take Pinealon every day. Don't plan on stopping, either.

Pinealon is not like many other peptides. It belongs to a superclass of peptides barely known about in the West: bioregulators. That's why it's the only compound on @pumpdotscience that is taken daily by PumpSci's OWN founder. Know who else takes it? @BioProtocol founder @paulkhls. What do these two guys have in common: they're DeSci legends. Our team also takes it everyday. So do our friends, so do our families, and even one of our teammate's doctor takes it! Everyone we just listed gets it from us, because our partner project, Chemiax, sells convenient, orally bioavailable capsules at double the dosage of any other oral product on the market (and at half the cost). Research has already shown that it can regenerate damaged neural tissue, reverse memory and cognitive impairment associated with TBI, stroke and dementia, improve mitochondrial function in the entire body, reduce the heart rate of elite endurance athletes by 10-12 BPM, and correct auto-immune dysfunction. Get your Pinealon from the same place the kings of DeSci get it. 40% of all sales goes towards $PNL buy-backs, so it's a double win for all you $PNL holders out there: app.hel.io/pay/68a65a4313…

Let's break down the very hyped new nootropics drink, @LiveLockdIn and see how solid their nootropics blend really is. Let's focus specifically on this Proprietary Cognitive Support Blend! 1. Alpha GPC: A classic choice, present in many performance energy drinks. Despite its improved ability to pass the blood brain barrier, long term use may have risks due to increased TMAO production. The longest-term safety study was 180 days, which did not show increased stroke incidence, so for short term use it seems okay. 2. L-Theanine: Pretty standard choice. While L-theanine is an anxiolytic, it is a glutamate receptor antagonist. While traditionally marketed in "beginner" nootropic blends, unless anxiety is one of the main blockers of performance, it is ill-advised to take when you're getting ready to perform unless anxiety/stress is a primary factor and, for cognition, it performs better when paired with caffeine (which this drink does have, so props for that). 3. NALT: A properly useless compound. Despite the marketing as a superior form of L-tyrosine, research indicates it is far less effective than plain old L-tyrosine, and the majority of NALT is simply excreted in urine. L-tyrosine is really only useful in the presence of a deficiency... which most people don't have... and NALT is even less useful than L-tyrosine! 4. L-phenylalanine: Another pretty mid choice. It is a precursor for other amino acids and derivatives such as phenylethylamine (PEA) and tyrosine. PEA is a stimulant with similar effects to amphetamines and is rapidly broken down (effects last mere minutes). The Phenylalanine -> PEA reaction is catalyzed by the enzyme AADC, so one is unlikely to experience benefits unless AADC expression is unregulated. Vitamin B6 is a cofactor for AADC, but it's unlikely to matter in healthy people... Also, the blend does not contain vitamin B6 😅. Additionally, PEA is rapidly broken down by MAO-B, which is the primary rate limiter here, so, even if one were to get an increase in PEA, the effect will last only 5-10 minutes unless they're taking a MAO inhibitor. 5. DMAE: DMAE is choline without a methyl group and research does not support the idea that oral DMAE consumption increases choline levels in the brain. Furthermore, the blend already has Alpha-GPC in it, so this is overkill for little benefit. And even if it did it is questionable to add given that too much choline has side effects such as headache, fatigue, decreases in memory performance, and irritability. The cholinergic system is a fine-tuned machine, and despite the importance of choline for cognition, blasting choline into your system will not produce the effects you're looking for unless you're deficient. This is a proper C-tier supplement. Final Verdict: Use of this drink is ill-advised, and, even judged against "normie nootropics" stacks, this one is is sorely lacking. This is not medical advice. Please talk to your physician or primary healthcare provider before consuming any supplements or nootropics.

Read this article if you want to know about Pinealon. Many biohacking figures and personalities spread misinformation when they discuss this peptide (mostly due to unintentional ignorance). A chief example: Many people call it the "pineal gland peptide" which isn't true. Despite its name: Epitalon is the primary peptide which is active at the pineal gland. For a deep dive into the science of Pinealon, check out this article. When you're convinced you should be taking it, you can order at this link: app.hel.io/pay/68a65a4313… Remember, 40% of sales of Pinealon at the above link go towards $PNL buy-backs. Happy reading, biohackers, health span aficionados, and nerds!

Should the $NDT airdrop to $PNL holders exclude addresses that dumped $PNL hard and then bought it back at a discount to maximize their PNL at the expense of $PNL performance?
