@_frederickjames @alexcooldev That’s good man. Keep 1 app private and 1 in public to teach people yk
English

@alexcooldev build publicly in private
i'm going to launch a new app soon, and i'll do it all in public, but i'm going in with the knowledge it will be copied

David is right. I’m dealing with the exact same thing.
None of my apps use dark patterns. They’re all freemium with free trials. But beyond that, competitors are watching every move you make, and some can hurt you very easily.
They can simply hire bot services to flood your app with 1-star reviews. That can have a huge impact, especially on smaller apps that don’t have many reviews yet. A wave of 1-star ratings can be brutal.
A lot of small app builders who publicly share their revenue also see clones popping up everywhere. Some of those clones even run Apple Search Ads on your own ASO keywords.
You can’t blame build in public for 100% of this, because competitors will always exist. But building in public gives you more of them, and they don’t even need to research your business because you already shared everything for them lol.
David Attias@david_attisaas
the problem of building in public with an app maker is we get addicted to the clout/aura dopamine then... we tend to share things we shouldn't share like dark patterns, gray area stuff etc if you do your build in public correctly, you'll get visibility, and... you'll become an easy target for apple reviewers + your competition monitoring everything you're saying happened to me, happened to a few famous app makers on X too words of wisdom: "don't share anything that could come bite you in the ass later"

@_frederickjames Yeah definitely doesn’t make sense
Btw I sent you a dm request. Would you like to connect?
English

yea i think they can improve the milestones.
2.5k mrr is first
then it's 50k users?
doesn't make sense think
would be better to have increments
2.5k -> 5k - 10k
huge for 10k/m revenue ofc
and it needs to be mrr OR revenue
bc some apps skew yearly
number of users idk, a bit different
mobile games & freemium, ofc lots of users maybe not so much revenue
