After animal activists broke into Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin back in March to rescue several beagles being used for scientific testing — and months of protests — the facility recently agreed to sell 1,500 of their 2,000 dogs to organizations, like Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Now, dozens of the animals are being taken to properties like this one in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin to get checked out by veterinarians before being transferred to rescue shelters and centers that will help them find their forever homes.

Tragedy in Australia: parents choose to die with their children and pets, after being abandoned by the system. It’s a sentence that hits like a boulder. One of those you read once and never forget. Because behind it is not just news, but a total human collapse. It happened in Mosman Park, a quiet, orderly neighborhood near Perth. One of those areas where the houses all look the same and pain should have no space. Yet, behind a closed door, an entire family stopped hoping. Jarrod Clune was fifty. Maiwenna Goasdoue, forty-nine. They were parents who had fought for too long, far too long. Their children, sixteen-year-old Leon and fourteen-year-old Otis, lived with severe autism that required constant, round-the-clock care. A presence that demanded everything, offering no respite. Alongside them were the family’s three pets, integral members of a tired but united household. Before dying, Jarrod and Maiwenna left a note on the door. Few words, cold and lucid: “Do not enter. Call the police.” It was not an impulsive act. It was a decision forged over time, in silence, in solitude. Inside the home, there were no signs of violence. No weapons. No struggle. Investigators found a second, detailed letter in which the couple explained everything: the planning, their reasons, even instructions for handling finances after their deaths. A composed farewell. Heartbreaking precisely because it was deliberate. As hours passed, the tragedy became clearer. Caregivers and those close to the family recounted years of rejected requests for help. The Australian disability support system (NDIS) had cut funding. The responses were always the same: the boys were “too difficult.” Too complex. Too expensive. Too much. Too much for a system that should have supported them. What the world sees today is not just a news story. It is the failure of a mechanism that left two exhausted parents with no alternatives. It is a brutal demonstration of what happens when those asking for help are ignored until they no longer have the strength to ask. Four human lives and three animals became the face of a bureaucracy that arrived too late. Or perhaps, never arrived at all. And this story is not just about Australia. It is about every place where loneliness is mistaken for resilience, and despair for weakness. Because when a system fails, it is not only rules that collapse. Families collapse. And sometimes, even hope.

The FDA knew the COVID shots would kill and maim countless Americans. They kept injecting anyway. One government employee tried to sound the alarm about “49 examples” of deadly side effects that conventional safety analyses weren’t detecting. She was shut down. Her name was Dr. Ana Szarfman. On March 1, 2021, less than three months after the rollout of the COVID-19 injections, Dr. Ana Szarfman, an employee at CDER and safety data mining developer, warned that the FDA’s existing system could hide vaccine safety signals due to a flaw called “masking.” She proposed a newer method developed by statistician Dr. William DuMouchel that corrected for this issue and, when applied, detected “49 examples of extreme masking” that the standard system did not. These “49 examples of extreme masking” include not “minor” but serious adverse events: • Bell’s palsy • Cardiac failure • Acute left ventricular failure • Agonal rhythm (severe end-of-life arrhythmia) • Pulmonary infarction • Cerebral artery occlusion • Aortic stenosis • Sudden cardiac death • Hypertensive emergency • Basal ganglia stroke When Dr. Szarfman proposed a new method, she was told to “hold off on creating and sending data mining reports and analyses.” Later, they “made it clear” that she “needs to focus on her assigned work” and “should not be discussing or providing internal analyses externally.” As Dr. Szarfman puts it, her work became a “pest” for raising concerns about safety signal masking. In September 2021, Dr. Peter Marks, the FDA's top vaccine official, decided that Dr. Szarfman’s COVID vaccine data-mining days were over. He informed Dr. Patrizia Cavazzoni, the then director of CDER, that Dr. Szarfman “has been asked to cease and desist conducting her data analysis.” Dr. Marks complained that Dr. Szarfman’s work had become “a major distraction” and that her efforts could “create erroneous conflicts that feed into anti-vaccination rhetoric.” Dr. Szarfman went on to retire from the FDA in 2025 after more than 35 years of service. She raised concerns about safety signal masking. The FDA essentially told her to shut up. Because in their eyes, “49 examples of extreme masking” could create “erroneous conflicts” and fuel “vaccine hesitancy.” Unfortunately, this is not a one-off instance. It’s part of a much deeper problem: the gap between what’s known internally and what’s allowed to reach the public. 🧵

If this was an any other Australian families living conditions, the kids would be rightly pulled out and the parents punished. In Australia, indigenous Australians live like this all over the country and the government turns a blind eye. Welcome to country

This is not correct, it’s terrible writing, and you should delete it. It’s the same framing people use when women are killed by their male partners and people start saying she was a difficult woman or a nag or a bad mother. It is NEVER okay to kill other people. Never. That’s actually the law, apart from anything moral about it. You’re saying disabled people can be killed if they’re hard work, and it’s a blessing for them to be dead. What does that say to all the other disabled people reading this? Just stop it. It’s horrific.
