@ingenuityff @Treborf67 @TTIDTHFC A small run of poor form for 2-3 years doesn’t walk back decades of high places on the table and trophies. Same way being decently successful for 5 years doesn’t instantly make you a big six club. Weird narrative that big 6 clubs haven’t worked their entire history to grow.

Yes I might have a Newcastle supporters hat on right now. But any time a club who finished back to back 17th can spend upwards of £300m, while teams who get UCL are forced to sell, Something is very wrong. PSR is designed to protect the big 6 and I won’t be told otherwise.
Ekrem KONUR@Ekremkonur

🚨#EXCL Tottenham have made an initial approach worth £50M-£55M for Galatasaray striker Osimhen! The Turkish champions want close to £65M. Man Utd, Chelsea, and Atletico also monitor! @ekremkonur @caughtoffsidecaughtoffside.com/2026/08/02/sou…

@ingenuityff @Treborf67 @TTIDTHFC No it’s not. Sell your product, get better commercial deals, get money men who know what they’re doing. Don’t sell a player for a world record fee then spend the money on absolute shite?

No, my point is clubs like City could get taken over and spend what they wanted and crack the big 6 but now that’s impossible because of PSR. So the only way to crack it is by decades of consistently high performances. While consistent poor performances don’t matter at all for big clubs

@ingenuityff The big 6 didn't decide anything Newcastle were one of the clubs who voted for the old FFP rules Newcastle was happy to vote for them so that promoted teams couldn't threaten them but now Newcastle want to join the oil clubs it's suddenly unfair and everyone else's fault

Want to make a quick point given replies. My main issue isn’t really with Spurs, it’s with the big 6 deciding it was fine when Chelsea did it, then fine when City did it. But only now they’ve decided no club can do it again. Which is inherently protectionist. I used Spurs as an example purely to highlight that challenging clubs now need around a decade of good finishes to even scratch the big 6 transfer budgets. But big 6 teams can finish bottom half and it doesn’t change a thing as far as spend goes. That is INHERENTLY a system that is designed to ensure the big 6 is never cracked. Leicester literally won a fucking league and could only spend around £80m net.

Heartbreaking: The legendary Tom Brady was seen all alone riding his $20 million mega yacht around Miami. Brady is currently single, and his children live with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, and her husband, Joaquim Valente. Money doesn't equal happiness 😔💔

@Del_Monte20 @scottycox The players who went to United last summer were offered more money by other clubs (the going rate is 160k a week at OT) & in the case of Sesko, the barcodes even bid higher to Leipzig. And you know why they chose Utd? Cos we're massive around the world & ultra successful. Simple.

Villa, Newcastle, Forest and Palace all recent stints in Europe. Sales this summer of Rogers, Tielemans, Tonali, Bruno, Anderson and Lacroix. Buying clubs Chelsea, United, City, Arsenal and Spurs (SKY 6) The prem is a fix. The above all in a group who agreed to join a super league. One awaiting 100s of charges another a small fine for paying off agents. Other clubs making up the numbers.

I thought they had Austin though? 😳 Oh wait, tell these Marks that Austin didn't draw shit for a full year & a half after the KOR promo What saved WWE was Mike Tyson & Vince going heel. Austin was the main beneficiary, but they tried that same angle with Gorilla Monsoon vs Steve Austin in 1997 & it didn't draw jack shit

Sorry but what’s with this lazy argument “ protect the big six” There are two clubs you should point your anger at and that’s Chelsea and Man City. They created this. As for Liverpool M Utd Arsenal Spurs? I’m not sure who the other so called 4 are. I assume you mean these. The latter four I mentioned have organically grown over the decades. Newcastle had the same equal opportunity to grow the same way. Weren’t you sticking two fingers up to everyone when you doubled the British transfer record with shearer? Not just upped the record with an inflation price, but virtually doubled it and caused inflation within the game to spiral. You were spending money like it was growing on trees in the mid 90’s. What happened? Why didn’t you grow from there? Whose fault was it you fell off a cliff? Same with Villa and Forest who both won the European cups. Why didn’t they kick on? It wasn’t the so called 4 plus City and Chelsea at the time. It was the total lack of ambition from your owners and poor choices of managers. They held you back, no one else. Liverpool were nearly in administration under Hicks and Gillet. You didn’t hear anyone in the media showing empathy or blaming the big 3. Liverpool have been forced for decades to sell their best players and reinvest. They’ve obviously had better scouts, and managers. Newcastle got 125m for Isak. And wasted the lot. You now have to go again and hope you get it right in the transfer market. And hope you’ve appointed a very good manager.

Sad day - I feel for Newcastle AND Eddie Howe. The EPL is set up to protect the big SIX clubs. Liverpool, Man United, Spurs, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea. Newcastle and Villa had money but not allowed to compete. #nufc #avfc

@SpursNorthEast @stevebrookstein You’re right the rules are there to stop clubs competing and taking the top spots from the entitled. It’s not about clubs going bust or you wouldn’t be allowed £1b debt and Man Utd £2b of debt. It’s a protection against the crybabies losing their top status. Spend cap wage cap 👍🏻

@CBarker81 @stevebrookstein @MRadeloff Sorry to butt in but it’s very hard to recruit players as good as ones leaving because the rules prevent aspiring clubs from paying top wages. So Newcastle have to find and develop rough diamonds. They haven’t recruited well but it’s bloody, bloody hard.
