@Sflecce Other boards do this too, not just @tdsb. Isn’t that how kids get employment through merit? Interviews, portfolios, sometimes tests. If we “water down” our expectations to an online app how can they see the whole child?

Our global competitors are focused on economic skills development and technological supremacy. Yet, some in Canada are focused on devaluing work ethic and the principle of merit in the classroom. We need to restore the entrepreneurial spirit in this country where young peoples' hard work is rewarded. Where we elevate their ambitions, not water them down. We are calling on @tdsb to advance academic excellence & re-do this process that was flawed & academically fraudulent. Parents deserve better.

Everywhere I go, students & parents share concerns about the proliferation of vaping, cannabis, & cell phone distractions in schools. Washrooms have become “safe” spaces for vaping & classrooms are undermined by constant cell phone interruptions.  We need to act with urgency to counter this generational threat. A message echoed by student leaders while in Thunder Bay, just yesterday, to @GregRickford, @GraydonTheMPP & myself.

@Sflecce Where was this back when cell phones first came on the scene? Turning teachers into cell phone cops isn’t the answer. This train left the station 10 years ago…you can’t put pandora back in the box

We must confront the issue of cell phone distractions & vaping once & for all. With over 80% of Ontario residents strongly supporting enhanced education & enforcement, our government will introduce a comprehensive plan to restore focus & safety in the classroom. SHARE if you agree.
