Addis Ababa travels - Post 8. On our last night we went for dinner to one of the best restaurants in town - Marcus in Addis very near our Marriott hotel in main downtown. Walking back 200 meters from our hotel on quite a busy main road we were nearly robbed - 2 guys accosted us trying to sell us glasses in the meanwhile a 3rd guy came from behind put his hand in my pocket to steal my iPhone. I immediately shoved him hard and lashed out at the other 2. Realizing I’ll fight they ran away as fast as they had accosted us. I guess my fast reaction and strength came in handy. Continue to workout guys it has many benefits. #Ethiopians

Most psychologically stressful race distance? 5K 10K Half Marathon Pick one. Some races hurt your body. Some expose your ego. And some make you question your entire training plan before mile 2. Some do both before breakfast.

@DavidDack Each distance presents its own set of challenges. While I enjoy the half marathons, with years of training, they have become easier for me. My goal now is to push myself to become faster in FMs. Improved from 4.51 to 4.19 to 3.35 in last 2yr- want to test my limits! 😀

The half marathon is the smartest distance if you have a job, friends, and a lower back. Long enough to respect. Short enough to survive with your personality mostly intact. The marathon takes over your life. The 5K hurts immediately. The half sits right in the sweet spot of “serious, but still socially recoverable.”

My Google Nest tells me “motion detected” 40 times a day until I mute it forever. so I built my own. Mine knows Anika is my daughter. Knows Sneha left for work at 8:14 like she does every Tuesday. knows the guy at 11:08 was a delivery, not a threat. AI shouldn’t alert you more. it should alert you less. Took me $70 of stuff from Temu and a weekend to have it live! still a huge thanks to Google nest for a lot of inspiration :)
