I'm trying to sleep, but I'm filled with rage and sadness that I can't get my mind to turn off. I grew up in Scarborough experiencing what it's like to always get the short end of the stick or be completely forgotten. My family, my community, we all know what it's like.

@iyad_elbaghdadi Canada's model is multiculturalism and integration, unlike the US model of the "melting pot" and assimilation. Valuing diversity is one of our cultural values.

You can't assume that integration will "just happen", you need to actively plan for it, but more importantly you need to know what the desired outcome is. It's not "people who look & act like us", it's "people who contribute positively to our society".
