A lot of folks have handed COY to Joe Mazzulla, but possibly leading Detroit to 60 wins and a big chunk without Cade Cunningham (or a second superstar), perhaps JB Bickerstaff should be leading the conversation

@Peter_Bukowski @CubeNondescript @mtodd2489 @TyDunne A good editor would have challenged Dunne on his claims of what the ex-coaches said before the piece went out. Dunne’s site doesn’t have an editor - or one that is up to snuff. Those claims of dyslexia would have never made it past my editors. They need to be corroborated.

The exact opposite is true inside the industry because people know @TyDunne is one of the few people still doing that kind of journalism. And guess what? He gets players and coaches to talk to him every day because he’s willing to tell an unvarnished story.
Asbestos Man@asbestosman8

That Caleb Williams hitpiece from last year is the most insane one ever, and Dunne is still invited on podcasts after that somehow instead of being locked out of the industry.

@Peter_Bukowski @CubeNondescript @TyDunne With something as sensitive as a learning disability, the coach either needs to put his name to the quote (would never happen I know) or it doesn’t get reported. It’s just gossip at that point

@CubeNondescript @mtodd2489 @TyDunne Except Tyler did not claim anything. He reported what coaches SAID about their experience with Caleb. You don't like it because you don't want your favorite team's QB to be talked about that way, but that doesn't make it bad journalism.

This guy isn't Tier 1, yet a player with 0 playoff games is. lol OK. Jayson Tatum is one of the best and most accomplished playoff performers of the decade, but isn't a Tier 1 playoff player 👍

@TheKingfisher18 “Dumb shit.” He was 7-17. He scored 7 of his 23 points in the final eight minutes when the game was over. He only had three assists and four turnovers. Not a great ratio. He basically got pushed around. Very good player. He was not good in that game.

Yes, a 24 year old NBA starter that got held back OWNED teenager Keaton Wagler defensively, limiting him to a paltry 23 points. I know that Illinois got destroyed in that game but people have to stop just saying any dumb shit on the internet.
Peter Peretzman@peterp2000

@TheFieldOf68 @JohnMartin929 If the situation should arise I would remind you that Yaxel totally took Wagler out of the game when Michigan blew them out.

Hell, it's the story. Bullard far more critical of his own team than Chicago. Wants to usher in a killer instinct & knows you can't curl into the fetal position. Gotta lean into sort of Packers-Bears hate that would've made Lombardi 'n Halas proud. Ben Johnson sure did.
Peter Bukowski@Peter_Bukowski

@GBraggsJr23 The whole point of the quote is to indict the Packers and Bears fans have taken it so personally, it’s great.

Javon Bullard tells @TyDunne he could see the fear in the Bears' eyes when the Packers were blowing them out in the first half, but admitted Green Bay didn't have the killer instinct to extinguish their hope.

@RambleWamble @cody_illini Mihailo doesn’t play, the Ivisic twins have played college ball for 2 years now, Mirk just turned 20. There’s nothing wrong with the rules

@cody_illini I don’t blame Illinois for taking advantage of shitty rules that allow European professionals to play college ball, but not American professionals. I just don’t have to like it.

The best player on the team is from Kansas. The best defender on the team is from Champaign. The best spot up shooter on the team transferred from MERCER. The best off the dribble scorer grew up in California & went to Cal and Stanford before transferring to Illinois. The glue guy was playing NAIA ball a few years ago. Google is free, Clyde.

Anybody who wants to blame the refs in a game where their team shot 38% from the field, well, do what you have to do.
