Teachers are irreplaceable!

Teachers shouldn’t have to devote more and more of their personal life to their profession to be considered highly effective. It’s unrealistic expectations like this that lead to burn out and teacher shortage

Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by curriculum, new programs, or initiatives. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job engagement soars, & students benefit too!

Teachers don't need to work 60+ hours a week, spend weekends grading/planning, or say yes to everything they're asked to do to be considered PASSIONATE about their job. That's burnout, not passion.

2018, more teachers resigned from the profession than any other year PRIOR. 2019, that number was SURPASSED. 2020, that number AGAIN SURPASSED. 2021, BROKE ALL RECORDS making it the biggest teacher resignation year of all-time. Question: Was anything learned? Answer: No! 😔

Don't think morale is important for adults? Do you think students learn better in a classroom where the teacher is valued, appreciated, supported, and celebrated, or a classroom where the teacher feels isolated, disrespected and hanging on by a thread?

If school districts would take time to ask teachers, if you were to think about leaving, what would it take for you to stay. They would quickly find what they need to focus on to improve teachers working conditions.
