I used to think Jesus couldn't be God because He didn't fight back. Arrested. Mocked. Beaten. Crucified. And He just took it. I thought, "Where's the power in that?" Then I realized something that shattered me: Jesus wasn't refusing to fight because He was weak. He was refusing to fight because He was dying for us. It's like asking why a father doesn't strike back when his hurting child lashes out at him. Love doesn't always defend itself. Sometimes it absorbs the blow to heal the one causing it. Islam taught me that strength was domination. The cross taught me that strength is restraint. Real power is having the ability to destroy and choosing to forgive instead. Jesus wasn't a victim. He predicted His own death. Walked straight toward it. Held back legions of angels. And chose the cross anyway. "No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord." (John 10:18) That's not weakness. That's a King so committed to saving His enemies that He willingly suffered for them. Jesus didn't fight for a crown. He took a cross to win the war forever. He wasn't proving He was God by destroying His enemies. He was proving how far God would go to save them. That's not weakness. That's how heaven wins.

Jesus, though fully God was subject to God the Father due to the fact that He was also fully human. And just before he said "My God, my God..." God the Holy Spirit withdrew from Him which let the full brunt of dying be felt by Jesus. So, of course, He cried out. Crucifixions can drag out for a long time. But he Spirit's withdrawal was a mercy, shortening how long Jesus would continue to suffer. If He had stayed with Jesus, Jesus probably would have had to get his legs broken to hasten His passing like the criminals to the left and right of Him.

@RealShahriqKhan Jesus clearly cried out on His cross, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" This was HARDLY God calling out to God from Earth to Heaven, but God's Son and Christ, as God's own Lamb, calling out TO His God, and was NOT this very God, but was bruised by God and raised by God.

@Jaachi_light Good on you for not giving up your seat. Reminds me of the parable about the wise and the foolish virgins in Matthew 25: 1-13. You'll notice that Jesus didn't fault the wise virgins for not sharing their oil with the foolish ones.

I saved for months to attend a Christian conference where my favorite preacher was ministering. Not just any seat. Front row. Close enough to hear every word clearly. Before the session started, a lady tapped my shoulder. “Hi,” she smiled softly. “My church group is seated here, but my ticket is for the overflow hall downstairs. Would you mind swapping with me?” I looked at her badge, then mine. “I’m really sorry,” I said kindly, “but I sacrificed a lot to be here.” Her expression changed immediately. She turned to her friends and said loudly, “Imagine coming to a Christian gathering and refusing to show love.” Another girl added, “We’re believers. Why are Christians so selfish these days?” I stayed quiet for a moment, then replied gently: “If giving away a seat is the loving thing to do, why doesn’t one of you swap with her and sit downstairs?” Silence. Nobody moved. Nobody volunteered. And in that moment, I learned something important: Many people admire sacrifice when it costs someone else. But wisdom is knowing that saying “no” does not make you less like Christ.

@BleatingSheep1 @wendelltalks A little advice (unsolicited, I know). Ditch the "plan." Because falling behind on the plan is discouraging. Just consistently read at your own comfortable pace. And it's ok if it takes you more than a year. At least you're reading it EVERY DAY.

MAGA is making a mockery of Christian faith. Paula White, compared Donald Trump to Jesus Christ during a White House Easter event, saying his struggles mirror themes of sacrifice, betrayal, and perseverance. Addressing him directly, she said, “No one has paid the price like you have paid the price,” adding that his story, like Christ’s, would not end in hardship but in victory, saying, “Because he rose, we all know that we can rise. And sir, because of his resurrection, you rose up.” There is word in the Bible - it is called blasphemy.

So I had vloodwork done before I left to come to Atlanta. Been dealing with some health stuff for awhile, but my eyes have been a real worry. My vision is changing rapidly and I was told last year that if we don't get this inflammation under control that it could get really bad. Well, I got a call yesterday that we may have finally found the reason. Seems my thyroid is barely working. Kot only does this explain the extreme fatigue, but more importantly, it explains the hell my eyes are going through. I'm starting a medicine this morning to hopefully replace that hormone. The Doc said I sold start feeling better and my eyes should be much improved in the next couple of weeks to a month... I sure hope so. Any of you have issues with your thyroid? Did the meds help?
