Brokers buy distribution: Robinhood spent $275M on marketing in 2025 to onboard retail, then controls routing and monetizes that flow (often >30 bps economics). Hyperliquid looks like the routing destination, while builders/frontends (e.g., @Dreamcash, @phantom) are the broker layer that owns users and sends flow to HL. Big upside if HL scales both: its native frontend (broker layer) and Hypercore as the execution layer for builders. 1) HL keeps user ownership, enabling downstream monetization beyond fees. 2) Builders scale distribution: retail-first frontends focused on acquisition (not cost-cutting) can deliver high-value flow (often >30 bps economics), making HL’s ~4 bps routing fee easy to underwrite.
