This is correct. Twitter's long-term value is the perception, and, ultimately, the reality, that this is the front page of the news writ large. It should be the place where writers, editors, producers, bookers, policymakers, and artists *have to be* to remain in the discourse. If it doesn't deliver on this at a high level, it will become another irrelevant Boomer slop-feeding machine like Facebook.
