💔 An 80-year-old grandmother, terrified in her own home, stood in a Winnipeg courtroom begging for a peace bond to protect herself from her neighbour. The Justice of the Peace said: “Try mediation first.” Less than 48 hours later, Gladys Bellamy was murdered. The man she feared: 74 year old Jose Francisco Raulino has now been charged with 2nd degree murder. Three women on the same floor sought protection that day. The justice system told them to “talk it out.” This is Canada’s Liberal run broken justice system in action: Backlogs. Excuses. Vulnerable seniors left victimized or dead. How many more grandmothers must be slaughtered before heads roll and real change happens? RIP Gladys Bellamy. This is unforgivable. ⚖️ 🇨🇦 #JusticeForGladys #BrokenJusticeCanada

@bdicky1979 @HeyItsCherrry That’s what the bill is for. Raise the bill. I’d gladly pay much more to never deal with tipping again. It is just a clever way for owners to underpay employees and make customers look like the baddies and you’re falling for it.

Hey #yeg ? If you're going out for cheap beer and wings for playoff games - don't be these people who stiffed a waiter on a $300 tab. Left the man a $0.55 slot ticket and $5.00 I tipped him for you, you absolute cunts. Do better.

@Ric_RTP Walmart does the fair pricing all the time. Which means when we lost below other sellers on Walmart, they tell us to raise it or the listing will be unpublished. As sellers on Amazon they do both. Too low or too high? That's a no no and fix accordingly. Pirates all of them

Amazon just got caught running a secret price manipulation operation with Levi's, Home Depot, Walmart, and many more. Every time you "comparison shopped" online, you were looking at prices that were already rigged. Here's what happened: Amazon would monitor prices on Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Chewy in real time. The second a competitor listed a product cheaper than Amazon, they'd contact the brand directly and tell them to "fix it." And the exact emails are now PUBLIC. Amazon sent Levi's links to two Walmart listings with the subject line "styles of concern." They basically said the prices on Walmart are too low and we have a problem. The next day, Levi's responded: "I talked to Walmart and they have partnered with us to take Easy Khaki Classic fit back up to ladder SPP price, $29.99 immediately." Levi's literally called Walmart and told them to raise the price. Because Amazon told Levi's to make the call. Walmart complied. Then Amazon matched the HIGHER price. Both retailers ended up charging more. The customer paid extra. Nobody competed. Same playbook with Hanes: Amazon sent them links showing Target and Walmart prices were lower. Hanes confirmed they "reached out to Target and Walmart to have the prices increased." Target increased the prices. Walmart increased the prices. Amazon kept their margins. But it gets even worse... Amazon told Allergan (the company that makes eye drops) that their product was "suppressed" on Amazon because it was cheaper on another site. Allergan responded: "Walmart got their price back up to $16.99." Amazon then unsuppressed the listing. They did this with pet treats on Chewy. Furniture on Home Depot. Products across dozens of categories spanning YEARS. The mechanism is simple but terrifying: If you're a brand and you sell cheaper on Walmart than on Amazon, Amazon suppresses your product, removes you from the Buy Box, buries you in search results, and effectively makes you invisible to 300 million customers. Brands can't afford that. So they call Walmart and Target and say "raise your prices or we'll lose our Amazon listings." Walmart and Target comply because they need the brand's products. Amazon captures 40 cents of every dollar spent online in America. That gives them the leverage to set prices across THE ENTIRE internet. Not just their own platform. So turns out, you were never comparison shopping. You were looking at a coordinated price floor set by Amazon through backroom phone calls between brands and their competitors. "Amazon is working to make your life more unaffordable." 3 separate antitrust trials are now scheduled for 2027. The FTC has its own case. 18 states plus the DOJ are piling on. This is literally happening during the WORST affordability crisis in a generation. Groceries up 25% since 2020. Housing unaffordable. Wages flat. And the largest ecommerce company on Earth has been secretly coordinating with brands to make sure you can't find a cheaper price ANYWHERE. "Competition" in retail is just a fantasy.

Hopefully this isn’t controversial, but if I’m paying for a streaming service, there shouldn’t be ads period. Not on Disney+, Amazon, Hulu, none of it. Ads belong on free versions of these platforms. If advertisers are already paying to run their ads, why am I also paying to watch them?

At the rally organized by IRGC supporters to glorify the arch-terrorist Ali Khamenei, the Islamists were waving pictures of Hassan Nasrallah, the former leader of Hezbollah. Hezbollah has been a listed terrorist organization in Canada since 2002. I very respectfully asked Toronto Police to enforce the law against the supporters of the IRGC. The answer I got was “I don’t know.” They don’t know the law, or they’re pretending not to know in order to avoid doing their job. Either way, I’m not shocked. Thank you @DanielBordmanOG for best capturing the incompetence of the Toronto Police.

🍕Kind Pizza Driver Leaves £40 & Heartfelt Note for Struggling Mum ❤️ Francesca Emmott, a single mum of two in Lancashire, was heartbroken when her 11-year-old daughter secretly ordered an 18-inch Margherita pizza for herself and her little brother - because the family was so broke they’d just visited a foodbank. When the delivery driver arrived and saw Francesca in tears, promising to pay later, he was deeply moved. He waived the cost, gave her a hug, and later quietly posted £40 through the letterbox with this touching note: “Here is something for you and your family. It’s not much, but from my heart. That day broke me. Hope your daughter enjoyed the pizza.” The single mum and her daughter both cried - overwhelmed by such unexpected kindness from a stranger who understood struggle himself. A beautiful reminder that compassion can turn a tough day into one they’ll never forget. 🙏

Absolutely disgusting and abhorrent mind set from those that we elected. Our veterans have memorials all around the world from grateful nations. But here in Canada? The opposite. MAID is about the only thing our vets get offered. Oh Canada... vt.tiktok.com/ZSHqPf8d4/

@Anticlamicus @VJsapps @FoodProfessor Given the names of some ingredients it's not always obvious. Or in the case of chocolate and some candy, which I've just discovered, they've introduced palm oils into the "chocolate" now. Now I don't buy any of them with palm oil. Sugar is bad enough without adding palm oil to it

It’s the best thing to happen ( or worst :) the frozen veggies I thought were great all along , now has high in sodium label and I skip it . This labelling needs to go on fast food packs and limits on meal calorie sizes should be mandated . Kids meals over 2000 calories is ridiculous ; fried + sugar 🤦🏽‍♂️

"More than 3 in 4 Canadians admit that these new Health Canada logos are influencing their behaviour, and nearly half (48%) say they are less likely to buy a product displaying the label. I know many don’t like them or don’t see the point, but they are working. It’s good policy."

@TsarinaAJ I disagree on sat fats, only because they've popped up in most chocolate products and some candies. Where I've always assumed I was eating excess sugar, not palm oils, which I realized after the labels came in and I actually read the ingredients. So I've stopped buying them now

@Bsbcaer @JJ_McCullough Don't be so naive . Regardless of leanings, the vast majority vote party/leader and not the individual. Most people can't even name their mp. And once an mp gets to Ottawa it doesn't matter how great your mp is, they are just swallowed up and tow the party line anyways.

@JJ_McCullough From what I've seen from a fair amount of conservatives online, they dont make an informed vote at all. Most just look at the letters at the right of that name and check that box

This floor crossing BS is out of control. If MPs in this country can just change parties whenever they want, then voters truly have no control over who becomes prime minister and runs our government. The whole Canadian system is based on the premise that parties MATTER.
Mark Carney@MarkJCarney

At this important moment for our country’s future, Canadians with a broad range of experience and perspectives are uniting to build Canada strong. I am honoured to welcome Marilyn Gladu today as the newest member of this government and our Liberal caucus. In a time of global economic uncertainty, Canada’s success will depend on how we build ambition into progress and strengths into sustained advantage. Marilyn brings the practical, results-driven leadership this effort demands. Having spent decades of her career in engineering and international business, she understands what it takes to create good jobs, strengthen supply chains, and ensure Canadian industry can compete in a rapidly changing global economy. She has been elected by the people of Sarnia—Lambton–Bkejwanong in four straight elections since 2015, and repeatedly earned recognition from colleagues across Parliament for her proven willingness to work constructively across party lines. I’m looking forward to working closely with Marilyn to build a stronger and more independent Canadian economy, meeting the challenges of a changing world with lasting opportunities for all.

@Reil76 Good lord. Nice in theory. Same as thinking that each mp independently represents their constituents first. Baloney. Most people don't even remember their mp name after the election. Mps are voted by party affiliation . Toronto votes red, Quebec bloc, west blue etc.

If floor crossing truly went against democracy, we would not be voting for individual MPs at all, we would be voting only for parties. In Canada, we elect a local representative in each riding, not a fixed seat for a political party. That means the person elected is the MP, and they are accountable to their constituents, not permanently bound to a party label. When an MP chooses to cross the floor, the election result is not cancelled, and no votes are erased. The same elected representative continues to serve the same riding. What changes is the party they sit with in Parliament, not the fact that they were chosen by voters. If democracy meant locking MPs to a party forever, then voters would have no real choice beyond selecting a party list. That is not how Canada’s system works. Floor crossing can be controversial, but it exists because MPs are elected as individuals within a parliamentary democracy where accountability happens at the ballot box, not through party handcuffs mid term.
