Visa is doing marketing consults (see pinned!)
as I spend more time away from the internet– being with my family, being in nature, reflecting on my childhood– it’s become clearer to me that lots of my frenetic online poasting over the years was a coping mechanism, a response to feeling fragmented, disconnected, unlovable

Today in history. In 2016, this was the day they introduced fees at the Aboretum. They started with 27bob, which later became 57 and now is 227. I remember we tried meetings and even talked as poets from PAL to do rotation cleaning of the park if that was the reason for the fee.

There are many people who quietly support others, outside family. Social support is part of our DNA. Everything doesn’t fit within the narrow capitalistic induced greed and selfishness.

Be part of the magic at the Poetry Hotspot! We’re looking for a typewriter to help poetry lovers craft a collaborative poem. It’s needed for two days (September 20th to September 21st) and we’ll take great care of it.

Karura Forest has been under attack for about a century. We need names. Who is betraying the Kenyan Soil this time? Who is the traitor mortgaging our children's inheritance?
Mūrūthi@Ngartia

10 years before, Jeremiah Nyagah, then minister for Environment, had quietly degazetted parts of the forest. By 1998, 564.14 hectares were allocated to 64 different companies in secret. It had first been gazetted in 1932 and marked as a source of fuel wood for the the railway.

Most of these institutions grow from inception. From a dispensary to a level 4-5 hospital. Over the years, it builds an ecosystem around it. Food, transport, infrastructure. People build around it, build businesses and communities. Their death means collapse of entire communities
e_odeo@e_odeo

Mumias used to have Booker Academy, St. Peters Mumias High, Mumias Complex Primary under the patronage of Mumias Sugar Company, plus Ekero Centre. When the company fell, those institutions saw dust. Ekero ata ikakufa a natural death. Now, SHA has finished St. Mary's Hospital.
