@llanga @cfbolz I finally got around to finishing the core.py episode on this, I'm glad my 20+ year old code (unix_console.py) can still make people's heads explode (it certainly looks pretty confusing to me now!)

@mwhudson @cfbolz We will start assigning issues to you tomorrow 🫡 (joking aside, thanks a ton for this! we looked through several REPLs and this one was the easiest to adopt)

@cfbolz Yeah I was looking at the PR and this looks like it will increase the "Michael's snarky comment" level of the cpython repo by quite a bit

@mwhudson Yes and no. I had messed up and had the wrong file live, but fixed it on the server before most of my players got to Sunday. So it's most likely a cache issue on your end. Try adding "?xyz" to the end of the URL so your browser "thinks" it might be a new page and really loads it.

From 1-12 November, 36,104 of Metlink’s 36,196 scheduled services have run. That’s 99.7% reliability and it’s what we should expect from our network. We’ve reinstated 67 services suspended while we rebuilt our driver workforce and the remaining 113 will be reinstated in January.

I wish sky sports now had downloads, got some long flights next week that would be ideally suited to rewatching rwc quarter finals...

@timClicks God created the integers, all else is the work of man (can't remember who said that - Frege or someone?)

Which came first, the integers or the reals? Are integers embedded in the reals or are the reals anchored to integers? Why must my brain ponder such ridiculous questions?

@timClicks that's not very precise either :-) There are a bunch of topological things that are much more complicated in dimensions 3 and 4 than either higher or lower dimensions iirc

@mwhudson can things bang into each other at, say the 8th dimension, that are not banging into each other in 3D?

Is there friction or collisions between medium sized objects at higher dimensions, or is that some special property of depth?

Do you remember when people just routinely died for no clear reason and everyone just said shit like "well I guess it was their time"
