@mwldk They are still in my garage if you’re interested in some of them 🤓
Mostly I guess it’s just the “signal vs. size” issue. I’m keeping stuff like this (for now):
I can only assume that the vaccine apocalypse is being run by software engineers, since they keep missing deadlines. It's like Longhorn/Windows Vista all over again.
@atjens 7½ time virker som meget, men 3 timer kan også hurtigt blive for lidt når flyveren bliver forsinket over Atlanterhavet og man skal igennem US border 😬
@drkrab I’m missing working with you as well and having you around for a chat about anything. Good luck on life, farming and what else life throws at you 💜
@sebsto@nixcraft Thankfully we’ve gone passwordless SSO with most of those here in Denmark. But I feel your pain, I do. In my experience though Safari is very good at cheating those institutions.
@mwldk@nixcraft Agreed ! The most annoying ones are the ones you can’t avoid : gov, bank, insurance, utilities. All these old school institutions we have to live with
@sebsto@nixcraft It’s very rare though. I’ve started to reject pages that don’t support SSO or password managers. I mean, how can you trust them with your email address and a password if they don’t even have the basics right?
@mwldk@nixcraft Sometimes you don’t have the plug-in installed. Or it is not working on a specific web page. You know … differences between “in theory” and “in reality” :-)
@sebsto@nixcraft A properly configured password manager should be context aware, built into the input field and not rely on the user guessing which entry from the vault to paste. Anything else you said is correct 😁
@nixcraft People blocking paste on password fields are lowering web security. They de facto prevent using a password manager. This should be sentenced to jail :-)
This is absolutely mesmerising. An Assistant Purser who was on the Titanic as it went down relives the experience, back in 1979. Extraordinary story, beautifully told.
