Oracle laid off 10,000 people on April 1 via a 6 AM email signed by "Oracle Leadership." No named executive. No warning. No town hall. Then the number climbed to 30,000 across the US, Canada, and Europe. Internal Slack user count dropped from 165,000 to 155,000 in a single day. TD Cowen estimates the cuts save up to $10 billion. That freed capital is earmarked for AI data centers where Oracle faces a $20 billion shortfall this fiscal year. Here's why HR leaders should care beyond the headline: CareerMinds research shows companies that handle layoffs poorly see 34% higher voluntary attrition among retained employees in the following 12 months. The 30,000 people who left are gone. The 130,000 who stayed just learned how their company treats people. If you're building an AI-driven workforce reduction plan, the implementation matters as much as the model. An anonymous 6 AM email is not an implementation plan. It's a liability. #HRTech #FutureOfWork #Leadership #Layoffs

I'm noticing a trend there's a growing number of "AI consulting" firms charging $20K+ to "deploy Claude" to legacy businesses (mid-sized law, accounting, PE firms) as "Anthropic enterprise partners" what this means: - they install claude code, cowork - run a few commands to connect to tools - give generic or misleading advice on a tech stack meanwhile, there's more interest than ever for firms with 0 technical staff to build SaaS in-house and there's an entire industry of advice givers seeking to profit off of this trend last week I was on a call with a PE firm (working with one of these agencies) and someone who had never written code was asking whether to run a RAG vector DB on a Mac mini to chunk internal docs can't make this up

I just heard that #TraderJoes discontinued these pickles. These are the best pickles that money can buy in the US. Absolutely unacceptable Trader Joe's.

30 agents every AI Engineer must build. This is the most comprehensive and practical book on AI Engineering that I've ever seen. I can't think of a single use case that they didn't cover here: 1. The autonomous decision-making agent 2. The planning agent 3. The memory-augmented agent 4. The knowledge retrieval agent 5. The document intelligence agent 6. The scientific research agent 7. The tool-using agent 8. The agentic workflow system 9. The data analysis agent 10. The verification and validation agent 11. The general problem solver agent 12. The code generation agent 13. The security-hardened agent 14. The self-improving agent 15. The conversational agent 16. The content creation agent 17. The recommendation agent 18. The vision language agent 19. The audio processing agent 20. The physical world sensing agent 21. The ethical reasoning agent 22. The explainable agent 23. The healthcare intelligence agent 24. The scientific discovery agent 25. The financial advisory agent 26. The legal intelligence agent 27. The education intelligence agent 28. The collective intelligence agent 29. The embodied intelligence agent 30. The domain-transforming integration agent I also read 50 Algorithms Every Programmer Should Know by Imran. Same vibe. Here is the Amazon link: amzn.to/4t5ystE

Folks ask me about the future of HR. I don't think there will be HR in the future. There will be company brain function, compliance function, there will be an IT function, and there will be a business strategy function.

"Sundar Pichai said last Tuesday that 75% of all code at Google is now AI-generated and approved by engineers. Up from 50% last fall. That's not a pilot program. That's a production shift. For HR Tech specifically, two things follow: 1. Your engineering team is already smaller than it would have been 18 months ago. The orgs that staffed up with 40 engineers to build an ATS could now do it with 15. That changes your burn rate math and your fundraising story. 2. Hiring for engineers is shifting from ""can you write code"" to ""can you review, debug, and ship code that an agent wrote."" Saffron out of YC's spring 2026 batch is already building assessment tools specifically for this. They test how candidates use coding agents, not how they write from scratch. If your engineering hiring process still starts with a LeetCode screen, you're filtering for a skill that's depreciating quarterly. #AI #HRTech #Engineering #ClaudeCode"

Q1 2026 venture funding by the numbers: $300 billion into 6,000 startups globally. $242 billion of that went to AI. That's 80%. Four rounds absorbed 65% of all global VC: OpenAI $122B Anthropic $30B xAI $20B Waymo $16B Meanwhile Sequoia just closed a $7B fund. Nearly double their last one from 2022. The capital concentration is extreme. Four companies took two-thirds of the planet's venture dollars in one quarter. What this means for HR Tech founders: If you're raising a Series A in HR Tech right now, you're competing for attention with companies absorbing tens of billions. Your pitch can't be ""we do AI for HR."" Every pitch says that. Your pitch has to be: ""we do this one workflow, for this one buyer, 10x better than anything else, and here's the 6-month payback math."" Specificity is the fundraising moat in 2026. #VentureCapital #HRTech #AI #Startups

"Week 1: I thought building an X auto-poster on the free API tier would take a weekend. Three weeks later I have 4 working endpoints, 2 broken ones, and a much deeper respect for rate limits. Specific things that broke: - Free tier gives you 17 posts per day. I planned 3 daily slots and forgot threading multiplies that count. - OAuth 2.0 with PKCE took me longer than the actual posting logic. Three days lost to one redirect URL typo. - Image upload uses a different auth flow than text posting. Found out the hard way at 11pm on a Sunday. Specific things that worked: - Claude Code wrote the queue manager in one session. I'd estimated two days. - Saving drafts to local SQLite before publishing saved me twice when the API timed out. - Building the dashboard last, not first. The work to schedule posts mattered more than the work to display them. Next week: scheduling logic for thread cadence and a dry-run mode so I can preview a full week before anything goes live. Building the underlying stack instead of paying for a third-party wrapper is harder than I expected. But every hour spent here is an hour I'll never pay Buffer or Hypefury for again."

Mukul building InterviewFlowAI
@mycomradio already building bias audit exports and human override logs into @InterviewFlowAI. Mobley v. Workday was the wake up call. adverse decision explainability is now a product requirement, not a compliance afterthought

AI vendors can be held liable as 'agents' of their client employers in hiring discrimination claims." US District Court, Mobley v. Workday, advanced as collective action under ADEA in March 2026. This is the line every HR Tech founder should have on their wall. Before this ruling, vendors hid behind the buyer. "It's the employer who makes the call. We just provide a tool." The court said no. If your tool is making the call, you wear it too. For HR Tech founders building anything that ranks, screens, scores, or recommends: You are now in scope for ADEA, Title VII, and the EU AI Act. That's a different liability profile than the SaaS contracts you signed in 2023. Three things I'd add to a product roadmap before Q3: 1. Bias audit reports the buyer can hand to a regulator 2. Human override paths logged at the candidate level 3. Plain language explanations of every adverse decision Build these in or get sued out.
