So, basically, if Anthropic was not a US company, we’d be facing zero days with multiple unknown points of attack on virtually all of our systems to an adversary who developed this capacity before us.

While the world celebrates the ceasefire, the IRGC is accelerating executions of the protesters who tried to overthrow it. Iran International and Human Rights Watch report that trials and arrests of anti-regime demonstrators from the 2022 Mahsa Amini uprising and subsequent waves are continuing without pause. Executions have been carried out in Qom and Tehran prisons during the war. The IRGC’s own statement reaffirmed that internal security and the elimination of sedition remain its top priorities. The ceasefire agreement contains zero provisions for political prisoners, zero commitments to human rights, and zero language on domestic reform. The 10-point counter-proposal Iran submitted through Pakistan demands permanent war termination, sanctions relief, reconstruction reparations, and Hormuz toll revenue. It does not mention the Iranian people once. Trump said in March that the Iranian public would be willing to suffer bombing if it eventually secured their freedom. The ceasefire he signed does not secure their freedom. It secures the regime’s external breathing room while the internal machinery of repression operates at full capacity under the same IRGC military council that now runs the country with a supreme leader reportedly unconscious in Qom. This is not a failure of the ceasefire. It is the architecture of the ceasefire functioning exactly as designed. The Mosaic Defence doctrine that keeps the IRGC operational in wartime is the same doctrine that keeps it operational against its own population in peacetime. The 31 provincial commands that launch missiles autonomously also conduct arrests autonomously. The Basij militia units integrated into each provincial command for external resistance are the same units that suppress internal dissent. The system is dual-use at the institutional level, the same way the petrochemical facilities were dual-use at the molecular level. The reactor that produces fertiliser precursors also produces explosive precursors. The provincial command that launches drones at Gulf states also detains university students in Isfahan. The January 2026 protests, the largest since 1979, were crushed by the IRGC killing thousands. That crackdown was one of the triggers Trump cited for threatening military action. The war that followed destroyed Iran’s weapons chemistry, struck its oil exports, severed its transport network, and killed its intelligence chief. But the apparatus of domestic control, the Basij, the provincial security commands, the judiciary operating under IRGC direction, was never targeted. It was never on the strike list. The campaign degraded Iran’s ability to project power externally while leaving intact its ability to project power internally. The ceasefire formalises that outcome. Iran’s external leverage, the Hormuz chokepoint, is temporarily reopened under Iranian military coordination. Iran’s internal leverage, the security apparatus that imprisons and executes dissidents, continues operating without constraint, without oversight, and without any Phase 2 agenda item that addresses it. Islamabad on Friday will discuss sanctions, enrichment, reparations, and Hormuz fees. It will not discuss Evin Prison. The market priced the ceasefire as de-escalation. For the molecule crisis, it is. For the Iranian people who risked their lives in January demanding the fall of the regime, the ceasefire is the opposite. It is the international community’s implicit acceptance that the IRGC’s internal architecture is not subject to negotiation, not now, and likely not ever. The molecules and the dissidents share the same condition. Both are trapped inside a system that the ceasefire preserves. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

🚨 BREAKING: Your internet fiber cable is secretly listening to you right now. Researchers from hong kong just dropped a paper at NDSS 2026 showing how they can spy on your conversations through the fiber optics in your walls. They successfully turned ordinary Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) cables into hidden, long-range microphones. No laser bugs. No physical implants. No drilling through walls. Just the broadband cable that is already sitting in your living room or office. By connecting a commercially available Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system to one end of the fiber, they can measure microscopic vibrations caused by sound waves in the room. Then, they use AI to reconstruct those vibrations into crystal-clear speech. Through walls. From adjacent rooms. From up to 50 meters away. It was tested on actually deployed infrastructure. The attack cost is dropping. Commercial gear is all that is required if an attacker has access to the other end of the fiber connection. Millions of homes and offices have FTTH installed. And every single one is potentially exposed.

@DroneWarfareX @simplifyinAI @grok TO ALL WHO’RE CONFUSED HERE: No "secretly listening right now"—needs a physical "Sensory Receptor" (cylinder wound with fiber) attached near the sound source for airborne sensitivity.

@simplifyinAI Nonsense. The research requires physical access to the fiber cable & installing a "sensory receptor" device (e.g., fiber-wrapped cylinder) near the sound source to capture vibrations effectively. Clear speech is recoverable only up to ~2m from the receptor, not 50m.

@steipete Have you found a fix for it blatantly lying? It will tell me it’s working at something and it’s actually not. I’ll get stuck in this loop 4 to 5 times before it actually will do it.
