Miles Taylor was DHS Deputy Chief of Staff. That department houses the United States Secret Service — the agency that investigates threats against the President.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher and I wrote a letter to President Trump in 2019 suggesting we remove U.S. troops from Germany - we made a recommendation on the number to remove & some to move - and I had a follow up discussion in the Oval with a few others.
It is the right thing to do regardless of Germany’s policies.

Last week Chancellor Merz called Washington’s handling of Iran humiliating. 5,000 U.S. troops are coming home from Germany. That is about 14% of the 36,000 American service members stationed there. The Pentagon confirmed Friday. A full brigade combat team and a long-range fires unit. Gone within 6 to 12 months. Trump told reporters Saturday the cuts will go “a lot further” than 5,000. Defense Secretary Hegseth ordered the drawdown after a Pentagon review of U.S. posture in Europe. America has subsidized European security since 1945. Why keep 36,000 troops in a country whose chancellor called Washington’s handling of Iran humiliating?

There was a routine Supreme Court procedural order today not to delay fixing Louisiana’s unconstitutional gerrymander. Normally these things are handled quietly without revealing who thought what but this time was different because Jackson insisted on writing a bizarre diatribe, which prompted Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch to respond. And they did not hold back. They described her claims as “baseless and insulting” and “groundless and utterly irresponsible.” They really, really cannot stand her.
What really says it all is that the other liberals would not touch it, let alone join Jackson or defend her. She is simply too embarrassing even for them to sign onto. Also interesting, but not surprising, that Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Barrett sat this one out, as usual, because they are too timid to call out someone who, by any sane standard, should not be anywhere near a judge’s chambers, especially not this one.

President Trump’s deregulatory efforts will save Americans trillions in regulatory costs. At EPA alone, we are in the middle of doing more deregulation in one year at one agency than has ever been done across ALL federal agencies throughout ENTIRE presidencies. As the President says, the U.S. is the hottest country in the world, with investment pouring in and groundbreakings taking place across America in large part due to the regulatory relief we have accomplished over the last 15 months. And we are just getting started!
