Got the privilege of helping turn in nearly a million signatures today (~861,388 combined) for @letsgowa. Between gathering signatures, collecting sheets, opening mail, and manually counting (about 3,000 came in last-minute at the event), I only assisted with roughly 10% of the total. What stood out most was how humbling it was to witness the sheer amount of work and care this crew poured into the process. I watched them pause over sheets where two extra signatures had been added at the bottom (which legally can’t be counted), or where coffee had spilled and blurred a signature, and comment, genuinely, on how sad it was that that one might not count. This was hours into opening thousands of envelopes with tens of thousands of signatures, yet each loss still mattered to them. We set aside thank you notes people included, notes where people apologized they weren't able to go out an collect more, kind words people wrote that staff made sure @bkheywood got to read. It truly showed how much every single signer is valued. Each signature was treated as if it were the most important one, because it was. Thank you to everyone who signed, volunteered, gathered, organized, and made this possible. Your effort mattered. (A special thanks to everyone who chatted with me at one of the @letsgowa or @WAGOP/@ScottPresler events and those who politely declined my 5th offer of a bag of blank sheets because you were hiding the bag I had already given you out of sight.) Washington has spoken. Boys don’t belong in girls’ sports. Parents are the most important part of their children’s lives.

The WA Attorney General’s Office is supposed to defend the law, and when voters repeal it, defend the will of the people. But this article shows the Legislature sending the AG’s office a draft of the statewide income tax for “review and comments,” while AG attorneys discussed how to make what they see as an unconstitutional tax easier to defend in court and summarized the goal as crafting “a tax that the voters will support.” Looks a lot more like collusion than independent legal review.

Emails between the WA AGO and the sponsor of a new millionaire's tax reveal its real purpose is to overturn a 1933 State Supreme Court decision declaring income to be property under the state constitution. AGO also advised inserting an emergency clause to avoid a referendum.

The SOS misquotes the Constitution!!!!!! Washington's Secretary of State has rejected our referendum filing — and misquoted the state constitution to do it. The actual Constitution says laws must be "necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, health or safety, support of the state government." The SOS letter rewrites it as "necessary…OR for the support of the state government" — making them two separate escape hatches, either of which the legislature can invoke alone. That word "or" isn't in the Constitution. We checked. The legislature declared its own income tax "necessary" — and the SOS office has declared they are obligated to accept that declaration without question — but they had to change the wording in the constitution to make it work!!!! So: the legislature purposefully abuses the Constitution and declares itself exempt from a referendum, and the SOS carries their water thinking no one would notice. Well, we noticed. We're taking this directly to the Washington Supreme Court. And it is an emergency because we only have until June 10 to collect the signatures needed for a referendum. If you want to be help us out, sign up to pre-order your petition sheets and keep updated through our email or text list.

Meet Bryan Kirschner, another shill for Gov Bob Ferguson's income tax. He is an AI strategist at IBM who identifies as "Fair housing, tax justice, and health equity advocate. 1990s community policing reformer." He falsely claimed no one is leaving the state because of taxes

BREAKING: King Bob vetoed an "emergency" clause on a bill because it doesn't actually take effect immediately. Funny how that logic didn't apply to his unconstitutional income tax.

The B&O surcharge (0.5% on WA taxable income over $250M) in SB 6346 originally ran through 2029 but now ends early on Jan 1, 2028, saving qualifying businesses one full year. McKinstry (private firm, Jamie Pedersen is EVP/General Counsel) doesn't disclose exact WA taxable income, so precise savings can't be calculated. Revenue estimates vary widely ($290M–$5B+); only the amount over $250M would factor in. No public data ties a specific dollar figure to them.

NEW: Isn't it amazing how McKinstry’s fortunes with state grants have improved since Jamie Pedersen, one of their officers, became Senate Majority Leader: From $4 Million to $40 Million of your taxpayer dollars, with more on the way DOGE WA volunteers are finding more everyday

A Seattle judge said we couldn't show the faces of the 33 Antifa & anti-Israel radicals who caused over $1 million in damage to the brand new engineering building at UW in May. So here are their faces & names: Tayler Hart, Max Rulff, Zachary Wallaced-Wells, Jade Wu, Jessica Schutz, Luisa Ortega Subdiaz, Ginger Newberry, Kimaya Mahajan, Gina Liu, Lea Keating, Akira Junyaprusert, Anna Hattle, Julia Fraczek, Cade Jackson, Jonas Piper, Ty Park, Lucy Zern, Tasbeet Iman, Ricardo Colon-Galvez, Roberta Collison, Ella Tunduwani, Zainab Chattha, Riley Centerwall, Catherine Brown, Brett Anton, Claire Berger, Yasmin Ahmed, Yafate Yared, Geneveve Konijisky, Finn Brown, Bailey Keen, Lucas Nichols-Mcauslan and Sam Sueoka. Teach your kids about government efficiency. Hype them up about buying a lego set and tell them you'll pay them to mow the lawn all spring to earn the money for one, then force them to buy this.

@n3rdyhick Is there an easy way to export the data as one big json dump? I'm interested in compiling stats per-representative yay/nay on each of the common sense amendments to see who's more reasonable. ("Delay until NBA returns" for instance is not a serious amendment imo)
