So this year I have some printed maths advent calendars… each day has a QR code that will take you to a further maths question and an A-Level question to do (based on typical pure topics covered up to Christmas) as well as a L2 FM question.

@n_sam29 @sxpmaths Not often. So I break them down into worked example / your turns. That match the slides we've collated. And then I set them off on the practice questions in lesson with the other questions to be finished as homework.

What are people's thoughts on curriculum booklets in Maths? Really keen to hear any thoughts or advice! We currently have them for KS5 and we're exploring the idea of them in KS4. @MccreaEmma @mathsjem @mathsmrgordon @mrbartonmaths

@sxpmaths @n_sam29 We've used the textbook and Dr Frost slides to create the ones we use. However these are the first iterations and we are revisiting them to improve them by adding tasks from Resourcaholic and Integral maths etc.

Does anyone have a SoL for AQA further with eg y2 calculus & radians moved into y1? Also if anyone wants to convince me against switching to do maths in Y12 and FM in Y13? Weighing up options!

@missradders We’ve also moved radians to Y1 and basically follow the old C1, C2, C3, C4 SoL adding in the extras when needed

Has the Remainder Theorem gone from A Level Maths? Haven’t taught it for a few years and doing a bit of revision - but I can only find it in the index of 1 of my 4 textbooks!

@n_sam29 @missradders So it’s the wording of the question. It’s asking the invariant point of the transformation, rather than the shape.

Can an invariant point not be part of a shape or its image after a transformation? Came across a GCSE paper where the invariant point is the centre of rotation but that point isn’t on either object or image.
