@kitten_ruby @AliceRHamilton I do understand nuance, that's why I asked about charter schools in the first place, you understand? Their public school is getting shafted on purpose. It's not "evil budget cuts" it's part of a political machine. Both of us would agree that it shouldn't be, but it is.

@nally4880 @AliceRHamilton 2. To charter schools over public schools? Could it be kids that want to learn so are trying out a new option because their public school is getting shafted? Could they have an unintentional selection bias simple by who applies and who defaults to the public system?

my homeschool bestie found out she technically didn’t graduate high school during a job interview. they did a background check and discovered the curriculum her parents taught her was not from an accredited school. Christians WANT their kids too stupid to question authority.

@nally4880 @AliceRHamilton Concept wise they could be great. Different kids learn differently and having more options is great. In practice they seem a lot easier to fuck up/abuse then the regular school system at the cost of both the public system and the students of charter schools.

@nally4880 @AliceRHamilton 2. Incredibly hard for the kids to pick up anything like they would being in school. Even if kids don't want to learn in school the fact that they are there in classes means they will pick up something. Public schools need help but for many they are usually better then nothing.
