Speaker Anita Among earns a basic parliamentary salary higher than ordinary MPs, who take home 6 to 11 million UGX monthly.
Her total official package, combining salary, allowances, office support, and perks, reaches up to an estimated 500 million UGX per month. That's roughly 6 billion UGX annually from her role as Speaker, excluding her separate office budget which runs into billions more for operations, donations, and staff.
Her most visible private business, Bukedea Comprehensive School, tells its own story. With approximately 4,000 students each paying around 750,000 UGX in fees, the school generates an estimated 2 to 3 billion UGX in revenue every year.
President Museveni himself has publicly referenced this school as the source of funds for her other projects, including her teaching hospital.
She also runs livestock farming operations dealing in cattle and goats, plus other investments that remain private. Before politics, she worked at Centenary Bank up to branch manager level and lectured accounting at Makerere University Business School and Kampala International University. The foundation was laid long ago.
Now, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan she bought, costs approximately 3.4 billion UGX.
Her school revenue alone makes 2 to 3 billion a year which covers that car in under 2 years.
Her official Speaker package of roughly 500 million UGX monthly buys it in 7 months flat.
Combine both, and the math says she could comfortably acquire it in under 6 months, well before any other business income enters the equation.
The numbers are not debatable, so people complaining about the speaker, we should start to think in the right direction people are busy working and investing intelligently
But @NinyeTabz why is it that when other prominent People in this Government are Building Multi Billion Arcades and malls, the Public always says...... Yeah it's Development. When it's Anita Among is where people draw the line. Anita is RICH she can afford any Luxury Car on this Planet Earth
Rolls-Royce
If u think life is hard and clue think about David kabanda..
His Muhoozi's fuutu bigere and as well as Among's fuutu bigere.
Now he has to choose a sides. 😂
Anita Among finished her private mansion, bought a Rolls-Royce, and continues splashing money extravagantly, yet Parliament itself remains unfinished. Ugandans are watching leaders prioritize luxury over public service while taxpayers carry the burden. The people deserve accountability, not display of wealth at the expense of national institutions. #SaveParliament#AccountabilityUganda
Law 1: Never Outshine the Master.
This is the First Law from Robert Greene’s The 48 Laws of Power.
In short:
Always make those above you(Your Voters) feel superior and secure in their position. Avoid drawing attention to your own Talent(Corruption) or achievements in a way that could make your superiors(Ugandans) feel threatened or overshadowed. Instead, make them look better and feel they are in control.
“6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, air suspension for a "magic carpet ride," and an opulent, bespoke interior, starting at roughly $470,000 to over $600,000”
In Soroti (July 2024), President @KagutaMuseveni donated Shs 20m through Vice President 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐩𝐨 at the church function. Speaker @AnitahAmong gave Shs 100m (5x more.)
Where is she getting all this money for repeated big donations? And why out-donate the 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 if she has “no interest” in replacing him?
