@EterRadioApp Thanks, I revoked Mic access from Eter, which fixes the issue. Really, there should be a Setting within Eter that disables Shazam completely.

@EterRadioApp Eter on macOS keeps trying to grab the microphone when connected to Bluetooth headphones. This causes repeated interruptions. I don't even know why it needs Mic access. There seems to be no option to turn this off.

It is with great sadness that I learn Prof. Philippe Bastiaens passed away today. Philippe was deep thinker, passionate scientist and my mentor. I feel this loss acutely.

A sincere advice to some Indians . When you are travelling abroad , along with your baggage carry some manners too . Don’t speak loudly in fine dining restaurants , keep your Daal , Bhaat Shaak , Rotli conversations to your rooms. There’s no need to do video calls with family. @ShwetaKukreja_ IPhones are not expensive compared to other flagship phones for eg from Samsung. The difference is that Apple only makes flagship phones, while other manufacturers make a range of budget phone too. Can you imagine the anti-trust lawsuit Apple will have if Apple Music was free?

Apple music should be free if you are buying an iPhone. For this much money, they should just give it away for free without a question.

@thinkingwest It was a force for good in the same way that the World Wars were a force for good in terms of industrial development and technological progress. The problem is the asymmetric distribution in cost borne by one group of people, while another group merely enjoyed the benefits.

@plantscientist9 @AcademicChatter I learnt that the first mistake is writing a grant for an idea that will need equipment and resources you don’t have without asking for them in that very grant. You will also learn to take deadlines less seriously esp. if you are the ‘contributor’ and not a stake holder.

#newPI here! 6 months in, no grants, 1 PhD student self funded, don't have money to fund equipment she needs for her experiment. Drowning in reviews, deadlines and unexpected admin every day. PhD student needs time I don't have. Just want to quit. Thoughts? @AcademicChatter
