NEW: 18-year-old Jaylan Davis has been arrested in connection to the deadly Oklahoma lake party shooting over the weekend. Police say more than 80 rounds were fired after an argument between two women escalated into a clash involving rival gangs. One woman, 18-year-old Avianna Smith-Gray, was killed while 22 others were injured. The suspect is now facing a felony murder charge as investigators piece together what led to the eruption of violence.

We have repeatedly offered the Russian leadership the option of moving toward peace. In response, we have received only new Russian strikes. That is exactly why Ukraine’s long-range sanctions are extending to distant locations in Russia linked to its military-industrial complex, war infrastructure, and the financing of its aggression. Every day, Russia can make a choice and end its war. And not for a few hours in order to receive our permission to hold a parade in Moscow, but in a way that protects human lives. People must be valued, not parades. There is a need to establish peace, rather than running around the world’s capitals begging for a pause on May 9. We need peace. Thank you to everyone helping bring Russia to this realization.

Daughter of ex-Old Bailey judge stabbed to death by partner who then blew up their £1.4m home in rage Annabel Rook, 46, co-founder of charity MamaSuze and daughter of former Old Bailey judge Peter Rook, was killed at the couple’s £1.4 million house in Stoke Newington, north London. Her long-term partner Clifton George, 45, allegedly punched her, tried to strangle her, then fetched a kitchen knife and stabbed her multiple times during an argument on 16/17 June last year. George then started a fire and detonated a gas canister, causing a huge explosion that wrecked much of the property. He was later found bleeding heavily in the garden trying to stab himself with broken glass and told officers “I killed her.” George admits killing Annabel but denies murder, pleading guilty only to manslaughter. The trial is continuing at Snaresbrook Crown Court. The couple had been together since 2013 and share two children; their relationship had broken down and Annabel had asked him to leave. Prosecutors say George “lost it” after accusing her of lying. Annabel’s family described her as a dedicated charity boss who supported refugee and migrant women through art and drama projects. Ah.....
