Sanitizing a genocide in the name of religion is both nasty work but also, on brand for something born out of and specifically for, violence.

This recording of a young lady from Narok reportedly being assaulted by her brothers in an attempt to compel her to marry a man she does not love is detestable. This is not a cultural practice, it is an act of sexual violence, and such conduct cannot be countenanced. The constitution guarantees individual autonomy and freedom of choice, and equally frowns upon harmful cultural practices that undermine human rights. We call upon the police to promptly identify and arrest the perpetrators of this aggravated act of violence.

There’s this incredible young woman named Dora Moono Nyambe, who dedicated her life to educating and fostering over 500 vulnerable children from abuse ( including sexual), child marriage and poverty. She recently passed away and I’ve been thinking about her and her kids a lot💔

women in experiencing violence and abuse suffer depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicide ideation. These disorders are often linked to S/GBV aggression. Addressing these issues requires addressing drug abuse and mental health. #mentalhealthmonth #endVAWG

Championing #periodfriendlyKenya by creating awareness of period poverty in schools and dispelling MHH taboos. Girls, especially from marginalized communities often face challenges surrounding Menstrual health and hygiene leading to early pregnancies, and dropouts. #MHDay2024
