But HR asked one question: "What would make 60,000 not work for you?" Candidate : "Honestly? Nothing. I have loans, rent just went up, and I'm tired of being underpaid because I'm 'still learning.' I know my worth now." HR went back to his boss. Showed them the cost of leaving the role open another 3 months. The lost productivity. The team burnout. The recruiter fees if we went external. It was over 50,000. The boss accepted. Here's the part that still gives the HR chills: Six months later, she told HR she had another offer for 130,000 per month but turned it down because they were the only company that fought FOR her, not AGAINST her. Candidates remember who believed in them. They remember who negotiated IN GOOD FAITH versus who played games. Stop treating salary negotiations like a battle to win. Start treating them like the first test of your company culture. Because if you can't advocate for someone BEFORE they join, why would they believe you'll advocate for them AFTER?

Are you in High School/University and Worried that AI is Taking Jobs You Haven't Even Started? There is no need to panic. The real world still runs on Physics, Energy, Signals, Materials, Medicine, Money and Logistics. These problems don't disappear because AI can write code or generate the so-called 'slop'. They get more demanding. So, aim for a field where reality pushes back, where things must work safely and reliably, where mistakes cost time, money, or even lives. Then use AI to help you move faster. The advantage will always lie with one who understands what actually matters! Also notice that since AI exploded into public view, we've seen endless demos, clips and bold claims. But how many truly new Power Grids, Medical Devices, Cleans Energy breakthroughs research tools have we seen? Not many. Real systems still need people who understand the ground truth.
