He only kept his job over the summer because York fans would have be furious had he been sacked. After 4 games this season the chairman moved him on using a poor start as an excuse.

Adam Hinshelwood would be a superb appointment for @SUFCRootsHall. Young, ambitious and proven at this level. He transformed Worthing, handled pressure at York and plays exciting, attacking football Roots Hall would love. Fingers crossed the rumours are true. 🦐🦐

@its_Fraser_ @SUFCRootsHall He was basically sacked because York’s owners felt the club needed a “new direction” despite his strong overall record. Officially, York said they had “parted company” with him after a slow-ish start to the new season. Make of that what you will 🤔

I for one am happy to trust the process.We now have a DOF and a Recruitment Manager in place,so the club’s planning and player recruitment won’t just stop while the manager decision is made.For once it feels structured,calm and thought through rather than rushed. @SUFCRootsHall

But we've seen what happens when a club is too reliant on one person's vision,when they leave,they leave a vacuum.This new structure is about making sure the club's DNA stays consistent,regardless of who is in the dugout

@ArronBenstead @SUFCRootsHall That’s the beauty of the new structure! The DOF and Recruitment Head set the club’s long-term identity and profile targets to fit our system. The new HC then picks the best fit from that shortlist. It stops us from having to rebuild the entire squad every time a manager leaves.

I’m happy to judge things over time rather than react to every setback. Doesn’t mean excuses get accepted just that there’s a longer-term plan I still believe in.

@SUEPAssoc @CJPhillips1982 Fair point. I think the distinction is really between domestic and national. The 1912 win absolutely counts as a first-team domestic honour, but Sunday was the club’s first nationally contested cup triumph. Both can be true depending on the wording.

@natashaboo7 @CJPhillips1982 Nope we disagree! See our comment just now - the Trophy was our first NATIONAL cup win, but our first first team domestic cup win was back in 1912. There was no national non league cup in 1912 - we competed in what was available just like now!

Ahead of Sunday's final I found out thanks to @SUEPAssoc that Southend United won the 1912 Southern League charity cup final. So do we still describe Sunday as the first domestic cup Blues have won?
