Hi, I'm Kun. I just left my big tech job as L8 engineer at Meta, Microsoft, and Atlassian, to be a solo builder. I worked on Bing and MSN, was a lead developer on Facebook Games, and Atlassian's SWE agent Rovo Dev. Doing AMA here for sharing and meeting ppl - ask me anything!

@RaeAlisa_ Working for a startup has zero upside as an employee vs a founder. You are working as hard as the founder for them to ultimately get the upside. Their 50-80% vs your measly 1-3%. You should ONLY take these roles if you are unemployed and cannot find a job.

if you are young and ambitious, the biggest mistake you can make is prioritizing cash and work life balance I moved out of home at age 15 and lived on welfare to graduate high school. my first job was founding engineer at a startup for $50k/yr. that startup was acquired by Canva and the learnings there changed my life. now I’m founding my own company in silicon valley cash at this stage won’t make a meaningful difference long-term. your skillset is an investment that compounds for the rest of your career. the only thing you should optimize is your learning velocity
Dev Shah@0xDevShah

if you are in your 20s, the biggest mistake you can make it working for a random ass yc company with a random ass founder offering 120k in sf to work 9-9-6. just lock-in and ship cool stuff, and you'll make way more.

asian girl fetish discourse is so dumb do you think blonde-hair blued-eyed stacys complain about everyone being into them for their looks? no they're too busy being hot. at some point between 2012-2020, asian girls passed white girls as the most desirable women in the world. i believe this was because of two reasons: 1. globalization of dating and content 2. white privilege discourse guilting white women instead of complaining about fetishes, congratulations are in order! congrats my asian sisters, you are now top of the food chain! personally, i'm a fan and agree with this decision.

I'm based in France, but 43% of my audience is American. I know many of us are in the same situation. To reach a wider audience, all my posts are in English, the international language. Those who cause trouble may be punished, but with this change, which will significantly reduce our earnings, you're also penalizing a number of accounts that use the international language without any ill intent. X tells us that videos and new, high-quality content will be prioritized, but this change will, on the contrary, drastically reduce our earnings. Is there any way to reverse this decision, please?🥺 @XCreators @X @nikitabier @elonmusk

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X: We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language. While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform. We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.

Asians in the west tend to be liberal because 1) They're often from major cities - SF, LA, NY - all very liberal 2) They often attend elite schools, which are also overwhelmingly liberal 3) They have high institutional trust, which in the west is leftwing coded
Diane Yap@RealDianeYap

I’m often asked why Asians, especially Asian women, tend to be liberal. If I had to guess I’d say it’s a lesser of two evils thing. “Sure, the left is bad on crime, but the right keeps saying I eat cats and should be deported and they want to take away my right to vote.”

We've evaluated a lot of base models on perplexity-based evals and Kimi k2.5 proved to be the strongest! After that, we do continued pre-training and high-compute RL (a 4x scale-up). The combination of the strong base, CPT and RL, and Fireworks' inference and RL samplers make Composer-2 frontier level. It was a miss to not mention the Kimi base in our blog from the start. We'll fix that for the next model.
Kimi.ai@Kimi_Moonshot

Congrats to the @cursor_ai team on the launch of Composer 2! We are proud to see Kimi-k2.5 provide the foundation. Seeing our model integrated effectively through Cursor's continued pretraining & high-compute RL training is the open model ecosystem we love to support. Note: Cursor accesses Kimi-k2.5 via @FireworksAI_HQ ' hosted RL and inference platform as part of an authorized commercial partnership.

The Einstein Test for AGI. @vishalmisra: “You take an LLM and train it on pre-1916 physics and see if it can come up with the theory of relativity.” “If it does, then we have AGI.” “It’s a high bar, but we should have high bars.” “At the time of Einstein, there were a lot of clues that Newtonian mechanics, there was something missing.” “But until Einstein came up with a new representation of the spacetime continuum, we were stuck.” “If you had a model that just looked at correlations and such... it would not have come up with the beautiful equation that Einstein came up with.” Vishal Misra with @martin_casado

In Australia we’ve a government censor (yes: like a “Ministry of Truth”, believe it or not). Ironically it’s a US citizen! @eSafetyOffice Julie Inman Grant esafety.gov.au/about-us/about… holds the post. She is American with dual citizenship (USA and Australia).

or have posthog pass all of your session replays to Gemini (can take video input) and have it output the bugs it noticed with nice prompting then pass those bugs to Claude code to fix Boom YC give me check pls
Y Combinator@ycombinator

Lucent (@lucent_ai) is an AI that automatically watches your session replays and finds bugs and UX issues. They’re already used by top product teams including Reducto, Julius, Finta, and Happenstance. Congrats on the launch, @RaeAlisa_! ycombinator.com/launches/Pfq-l…

@staysaasy Any “company” on the app layer is screwed. The have no moat, the company that own the model can easily build it, the only leverage in AI era is compute and better models.

I think Cursor is in deep trouble man. They’re clearly atrociously bad margin. They are raising prices a ton this year in enterprise sales cycles. They’re intimately a wrapper around foundational models that many other companies figured out very quickly. But those companies own the models so they can be more price competitive. My hot take is that they’re going to get acquired this year for less than their last raise. By Google.
