@malisauskasLT Now take any of those stores and go through them and see what other apps they let reviews on…. And there is only a fraction of the review network. This whole thing is such a farce, and frankly Shopify doesn’t do much about it. Merchants bully devs for refunds or 1 star

This Shopify app was clearly buying fake 5-star reviews and then didn't pay someone, so they got spammed with 1-star reviews instead which tanked their rating to 2.9 🤣 I have no idea how it passed through Shopify review approval system and got published. Anyone else feeling the new review purge coming? 🤣

Is there an app that can upsell a subscription product in checkout (not post purchase) on Shopify? I want to set the price to 100% off in checkout, but recur at the full price. This is for our membership product. So far, run into apps not supporting subscriptions.

This is a very prominent Shopify landing page linked to from the app store. Literally the first 2 apps recommended on this page have a 2.0 rating (3 reviews) and a 1.3 rating (5 reviews)..

Its been a year since Shopify Knowledge Base went live in the app store. Based on usage in that time, I'd say this agentic FAQ concept is DOA. Screenshots are from three 8-figure stores. Its just not used.

@JasonHassold We solve this with Dynamatic. apps.shopify.com/navidium-cart-… among many other features. We also solve the issue with the free gift pricing discount not stacking with other coupons like influencers etc which is another mega hassle. Of course the app does way way more :)

At least half of the Shopify merchants I work with have setup a 100% off X item, then realize that the customer can just increase quantity and get more for free, and then realize there is no way to limit it to 1 This really isn't something you should need an app for...

@DsMatie Months. It’s about 5-6 weeks before you get assigned a reviewer. Then if they decide something isn’t right, they can ask you to fix it, but even worse, they can pause your app, have you fix and resubmit which puts you right back at the back of the queue. So mistake can be 10wks

When you tell us something's broken, we fix it. App review times in the Shopify App Store got too slow. Devs were waiting weeks. So we rebuilt the submission pipeline.

@liam_at_shopify @ShopifyDevs the app submission / review process now is so incredibly frustrating :( I pushed a close friend to build for Shopify. He waited 5 weeks for a review of his app. Two days ago they “paused” it for a small pricing bug which he fixed and now 5 more?!

@YoelTIsrael Bad for exporters, good for importers. Also good for people who like online shopping. Bad for incoming tourism, too, but 1) Israel is very expensive anyway and 2) not much tourism till these wars are over. Good for travelling Israelis - shekel will go longer way abroad

@YoelTIsrael Bank of israel won’t do anything for another few months. Israel has massive loans due to the war, and paying it back works to their advantage if the exchange rate is like this. Eventually they will. Second part of this is the USD has been weakening a ton the last year too.

@DsMatie Add to that, policies change, APIs change all the time and it certainly is far from set and forget. We did bfs and it made zero difference to our overall ranking or install rate. Literally zero. We still outranked by apps with less history, less reviews, and lower rating.

@iamitporwal The review system is super weird. We have plus stores who used us forever and their reviews are “archived”. Look at this: one app with way more 5 stars and same 1-2 star count and still a lower overall score. Makes zero sense.

A negative review by merchant who forgot to check pricing plan on Shopify app store listing is not fair. If you missed to check pricing or you didn’t understand pricing structure of an app, thats not the mistake of app partner.
