@GOGcom Exactly what I did for Disco Elysium. I plan on doing it for more games like the olds DOOM, DOOM 2016 and Eternal for example.

Download the offline installer of any of your games on GOG, save it to a disc and it's yours forever. You don't need a storefront's permission to play what you bought.

As I said before this post right here is going to be the silent killer of PlayStation. Once the towel gets thrown in, it's not because people gave in, it's because people gave up. It's not because they switched to digital in desperation it's because they brought their money elsewhere. PlayStation follows the bricks and minifigs public outrage rule book to ignore outrage because it will be gone after a month. What that handbook doesn't tell you is because you're then past the point people care about your brand and see you for who you truly are. A company who ignored the problem at hand. While their consumers went through all the stages of grief to end up accepting you for what you are. If you wanted to save some face you had to jump in before the denial phase is over. It's simple psychology but these multi billion companies look at spreadsheets rather then actually understand their market and simple human psyche. The public outrage handbook only works for individuals who don't have to make money off the people they caused the outrage with.

@LikeToBeBossy It just stinks. They might have amazing replacements and groundbreaking features that could legit make up for it. But right now its just "this hobby you love? The fundamental concept of owning a game - yeah, we're removing that from our platform". Then nothin but crickets.

Randomly announcing that physical games will be phased out by 2028 is one thing. But acting like nothing happened afterwards, ignoring your fans and partners, and refusing to properly answer any of the questions is what really makes me even more angry.
