@ItsPhigs There's a mod called Rise of Palpatine. It's a clone wars mod that has like every ship type and unit there is. It turns into a fever dream though, yesterday the AI spammed me with 50 munificents in 1 battle.

After replaying Empire at War I can confirm that throwing gorillions of star destroyers at tech level 5 opponents bases is the most retarded strategy that actually works. I don't want to blow up star systems I want to control them.

@Zaccone_Mr @Thegenrlstaff Lots of people don't realize that. The main characters are based off the Russian revolution. It's one big reason why I could never really get into it.

The "brilliance" of this scene is overhyped garbage. With the usual suspects soyjacking over this scene, it just really hammered home for me that none of them get how violence or the rules of engagement works. If you put yourself in the shoes of the guys on the crowd control line, the simple reality here is that the rank and file Imperials did *nothing* wrong and were totally justified. What that officer knew: - He took fire during a volatile event - One of his guys got killed He then proceeded to order his men to open fire, firing in the direction he believed he was receiving fire from. Immediately on the first shots from his line, his men started taking fire from ununiformed, armed rebel agents *inside of the crowd*, killing more of his men. This led to a firefight where the Imperials were opening fire in all directions and were taking return fire that was causing them further casualties. At no point were the Imperials *not* in mortal danger. It really doesn't work to try and show some atrocity, but then immediately when the False Flag happens have the actual enemies you wanted to pin it on open fire from inside a crowd and turn it into a street fight. If you really want this scene to work, you have to have some stones as a writer and show the Imperials opening fire on a truly unarmed crowd then when they realize there isn't further fire coming from the crowd, have an order be issued to continue firing as an extrajudicial punishment on the crowd as a whole. It's not "cool", it won't be a battle, it'll be grim, but it'll be a lot better than this crap.

@HMBohemond I have always viewed it as the blaster bolts actually are traveling much faster than they appear. It's hard to render something moving as fast as a bullet. It's like how in the novelization of ROTS Windu and Palpatine are moving so fast it's a blur but the movie can't show that.

Kinetics being phased out by blasters never sat well with me in Star Wars lore. You phase out supersonic kinetic projectiles for well below subsonic plasma bolts, trading out one ammo type for two (blaster gas and battery pack). All for equivalent ammo capacity and lethality? It also ignores that a setting with Star Wars' tech level wouldn't just not have kinetics as regular weapons. We know railguns exist because AT-TEs had them, plus they were used frequently on other vehicles. You could make a scarily powerful and efficient railgun in terms of power supply and ammo for infantry using the same tech already available. Jedi also canonically have trouble with kinetic weapons because they can't just deflect the shots without getting severely hurt. There's zero reason for kinetics to not be the main weapons of every faction.

@HMBohemond Pretty sure that bullets did exist in Star Wars and they were a bitch to deflect. They were just out dated in favor of blasters

@CrossMaul I think it's different ways if approaching the shows. Ahsoka was made unlikeable on purpose from the start so we could watch her girl and mature. Devon is made a likeable and sympathetic character from the start who we watch fall but at the same time empathize with as she falls.

Dare I say strongest protagonist for the first season of any of the animated shows? Like Ahsoka is my girl but in terms of an introduction Devon is running circles around her
D🅰️hz🅰️n@D4hz4hn

Devon is the best executed fall to the Darkside I've ever seen in SW. Most characters end up coming off as naive morons who do a sudden 180, but Devon entirely understands what she's doing and that it's bad, but her hatred is so great she doesn't care

@AngloVarangian If people enjoy a show I am happy for them. However, a lot of the diehards of the "mature" show are some of the most immature star wars fans I have ever seen. If someone offers a negative opinion about it I rarely see a rebuttal, just insults like "tiktok brain"

@2001Quba @bones4918 I know about the 150 contingency orders. The problem here is people often cite the Battlefront 2 501st journal where the narrator states, when talking about Aayla Secura, that they knew she would eventually be killed by clones.

@nelsonator97306 @bones4918 That's not what the original story was, Order 66 was just one of many special case orders, 66 was specifically "Jedi are going against republic and must be dealt with" order but there's also orders like "Chancellor is going against the republic and must be dealt with"

@VigilantesSaber People seem to forget that Kreia is trying to manipulate you the whole game because she is secretly a sith lord trying to destroy the Force, the source of all life in the galaxy. Without it, there is no life. She is using a wound in the Force, the Exile, to help her do it.

The most important part about KOTOR 2 isn’t that it deconstructs the premise of Star Wars. It’s that, after doing so, it reconstructs AND affirms that exact same message.
The Act Man@TheActMan_YT

Knights of the Old Republic 2 has always been my favorite Star Wars story because it deconstructs the entire premise of Star Wars itself and dives into the morally grey parts of the universe. May the 4th be with you!

Okay. I'll take some hate for this. 1. We were told in Ep II that the clones were engineered to be more docile and obedient. 2. Which means even pre Clone Wars show those Clones probably didn't 'really' have a choice in order 66. The cards were stacked against them. 3. That doesn't make the BF 2 monologue any less compelling. Temuera understood the assignment and absolutely kills it with that performance, but it is worth keeping in mind that they may not have entirely been moral free agents in the sense a normal human is. 4. The Clone Wars shifts the narrative on the Clones to make them a part of the overall tragic tapestry of the prequels. Like nearly everyone else, the clones were victims of his schemes, probably more than other group. They ARE portrayed as moral free agents that have their agency stripped from them. 5. All this is to say is that, really, both versions of the story work well for very different reasons.
Paisios@AngloVarangian

This shows how the original clone wars writing in the early to mid 2000s was way better than Dave Filoni's version.

@James28071512 @matpolloy If they aren’t going to put the time effort and money into every show like they did with Andor then I think it’s for the best honestly. Live action Star Wars in my opinion should be an event.

@MichaelFKane Once TCW had that episode with Yoda having campfire talk with his clone squad (I think it was even the first broadcasted episode, though not first chronological?), the "clones wanted to kill Jedi" angle could have never worked, certainly not at scale Palpatine needed.

@RichardLindahl2 @AngloVarangian It makes him even more evil IMO. He basically has the clones raised to be good ideal people for the Jedi to bond with, but he has a an override that makes them kill the Jedi without any premeditated malice so they cannot sense what's coming.

@AngloVarangian No complaints about the chips make any sense to me. It makes far more sense for Palpatine to guarantee the clones will be compliant when the time comes rather than leave it up to chance.

@MinkahBurgh39 I saw someone else mention that they saw Christian Hackenburg on Grudens QB camp in like 2016, another high traits guy Franklin coached. Gruden pointed out that Hackenburg had his feet the wrong way to take a snap. Hackenburg said that's how Franklins staff told him to do it.

I don’t mind people preferring Will over Allar, because neither have played so it’s fair to make a case for either. But what i do hate is when people say Will is better because he won a Natty. Let’s remember how important situations are for QBs.
