@MatthewBerman @BostonDynamics I'd love to see an Ironman-style readout of thoughts, too. Maybe it can move parts, calculate the trajectory needed to orbit Mars, and make judgy thoughts about co-workers' corporate attire.

.@BostonDynamics just dropped an incredible video showing off how their Atlas Humanoid Robot sees and interacts with the world. Boston Dynamics seems like the most advanced robot right now, right?

@PTrubey @paulsutter We are aerospace manufacturing people. It's from our simulator of the real factory we're building

Slashing costs is the goal, but you need to choose the right market otherwise its radial tires all over again. Abundance is about repeatedly 1/10th-ing costs, in markets where demand grows with an even larger multiplier (1/3)

The False Promise of Labour Replacement Revenue @immad's take: "AI companies are charging 1/3 of labor costs — but margins will get crushed." Right now, AI pricing looks brilliant on paper. But there’s no moat. No network effects. Once competitors show up, margins will disappear. What looks like efficiency today, might be a race to the bottom tomorrow. @gdb @Altimor @karpathy — how defensible is labour automation in the long term?

@TheHumanoidHub Sundar is spot on. Google’s bench depth in physical AI models makes them a strong contender to become the Android of robotics. And we’re building the whole-factory orchestration layer.  Abundance is coming!

Sundar Pichai on the robotics opportunity: ⦿ He's impressed by recent humanoid progress - so much so that he sometimes has to look closely to tell if a robot video is real or fake. ⦿ Google initially moved too early into the application layer, but now sees the combination of AI and robotics as the “sweet spot.” ⦿ He believes we’re 2–3 years away from a “magical moment” in robotics. ⦿ Google is working on playing a role similar to Android in robotics - one of its internal bets is already focused on supporting robotics manufacturers. ⦿ Gemini robotics models will work very well - how to productize them is still an open question at the company.

People tend to focus on the physical limitations of humanoid robots in manufacturing, but what's really needed is a whole-factory orchestration layer
