Jeff Bezos reveals why he refuses to make a single important decision before 10am: "I like to putter in the morning. I like to read the newspaper. I like to have coffee. I like to have breakfast with my kids before they go to school. My puttering time is very important to me. That's why I set my first meeting at 10 o'clock" "I like to do my high IQ meetings before lunch. Anything that's going to be really mentally challenging, that's a 10 o'clock meeting. Because by 5pm, I'm like, I can't think about that today. Let's try this again tomorrow at 10am" "As a senior executive, what do you really get paid to do? You get paid to make a small number of high quality decisions. If I make three good decisions a day, that's enough. Warren Buffett says he's good if he makes three good decisions a year"

Bjarne Stroustrup (Creator of C++) on the costs of abstraction: "It's compiled away. This is why I talk about zero overhead abstraction. And people are beginning to take me to task for that because that's underestimating the ability of the C++ compiler. We can do negative overhead abstraction." Ryan: "What if you're really good at writing assembly and had all the time in the world to write it?" Bjarne: "If you are very smart and you have infinite time, you can do better. By and large, we are not as smart as the optimizers anymore, and we don't have infinite time."

Did you know the U.S. delegation reportedly had one rule before boarding Air Force One in Beijing: if China issued it, it stayed in China? Not the burner phones. Not the charging cables. Not the credentials. Not the lapel pins. Not even the gifts. Everything Chinese-issued was dumped before boarding. Publicly, Trump and Xi smiled for the cameras. Privately, the U.S. delegation was acting like every room had ears, every device was compromised, and every “souvenir” might come with a second job. That’s the real diplomacy.

Elon Musk’s “baby mama” Ashley St. Clair is accusing Elon Musk of rigging the 2024 election using lasers, satellites, and space technology. She says she has a dead man’s switch if anything happens to her. “In October, Elon told me he was ready to release his ‘anomaly in the matrix.’” “He said he has 10K lasers in space,” referring to his satellites. “This is not a piece they’ll see on the chess board.”
