@NotJustinLaw The same people also seem to think the Palestinians will establish some progressive pluralistic democracy once they defeat Israel so they’re really a taco short of a combination plate.
English

@SteamboatUSA This tells me you practiced in state court. I now do admin hearings and so many lawyers haven’t been yelled at by a state court judge and it shows.
English

@aelfred_D Wow, Europe, culturally appropriating vegetables.
English

What’s wild here is that both the potato and the tomato are New World vegetables.

@kpomerleau @MrRBourne Have you visited Phoenix, Flagstaff or Las Vegas recently? The growth is staggering.

@Helma_Lennartz @inflammateomnia @providenceluvr I recently saw an article that an actor od’d on caffeine because they had 2 Celsius—I commonly have two of those, 20oz black coffee, and a Coke or two during work.
English

@inflammateomnia @providenceluvr kind of like Canadians discovering American energy drinks and being like "This has 200MG of caffeine in it" and Americans being like, "That's it?"

@missfalsteenia The Palestinians know better than anyone if you don’t return soon enough you lose your home forever.

I never remember how to cite AG opinions. I just search google scholar and copy the judge whose opinion I click on.
Dan Epps@danepps
Law pro tip: if you're struggling to figure out how to cite a source, rather than poring over the Bluebook, just search recent articles in @HarvLRev on Westlaw (HVLR database) for that source. Odds are the HLR Exec Eds figured it out already.

@oldred_politics @mattyglesias Came for this comment. Go Big Red!

@lexlanham Look forward to you testing that assumption at your earliest convenience.

Mine is on the floor of my office and is currently crooked in the frame.

There’s 2 types of lawyers in the world: 1. Those who have their framed diplomas proudly displayed in their office + have “esq” in their sig block. 2. Those who have no clue where their diplomas are and aren’t sure what an “esquire” even is. There’s no in-between.

@SteamboatUSA Not a bahn mi recommendation, but Killer Po Boys in the French quarter has a pork belly poboy that I dream about, get it every time I’m in town and never disappoints.
English

@SteamboatUSA 100% say what you will about colonialism, good things do come out of it. See also, chili peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, etc.
English

@SteamboatUSA Also for my money best bahn mi is in NOLA; large Vietnamese population and a notable po’boy culture.

For example: If I'm reading this right, the EPA will no longer have the latitude to interpret various environmental regs as they see fit. Whenever the DoD wants to build anything of consequence, there's an environmental impact assessment done. If regulations are unclear, the EPA will then have to wait for Congressional clarification before it can sign off on major military construction.
I'm simplifying somewhat, but you all get the point.
English

I am not a legal scholar by any stretch of the imagination. That said, #scotus effectively striking down the Chevron Doctrine wholesale will have massive ramifications for how agencies in the executive branch operate, including the DoD.

English

@SteamboatUSA Merits aside, if a single case on procedure results in a dedicated semester class on it, it needs to be reformed at the very least.
English

@leaferi @Lawl_Assoc My read on the opinion is that it only applies to statutes, not regulations. So if Trump wins, his new EPA can’t say “I read the statute in a new way” and when challenged have the courts say we disagree but you know best.
English

@Lawl_Assoc Wouldn’t say I am an admin expert but sense is that SCOTUS just declared open season on find your favorite activist maximalist judge to find whatever regulation ambiguous and then reinterpret it.
