It is Aug 16, 2025. In my Twitter DM's, a worried community member asks for help/advice.
He has $200k in XRP in an XRPL account, and he set up Multi Sign. Then he set up multi sign for the accounts he used for the initial Multi Sign. Unknowingly, he created a "nested Multi Sign" setup.
While the XRPL allows one to configure this, it creates a condition that can never be resolved: even with access to the secrets belonging to the nested Multi Sign accounts, the XRPL will never accept the signatures because of the nested condition.
At @XRPLLabs we can't just fix this, because code is law and the XRPL code happens to allow setting up a condition where one is locked out of their wallet 🥹
The only way to resolve this, is an amendment. An amendment that allows for nested signatures. I don't know many people who can actually code this, but I happen to have the privilege of working alongside of one of the few: @RichardXRPL. And @sereneblade is a loing long time contributor to the XRPL and good friend of @XRPLLabs.
So what did we do? We discussed, and started coding. Resulting in an amendment we submitted today to the rippled/XRPL code base. With this code change, merged into a future release by @RippleXDev and voted in by validators, our community member reaching out to me on August 16th last year will get access to his funds again.
Here's the (hopefully to be merged and voted in) amendment: github.com/XRPLF/rippled/…
There are some take-aways here 😉
Yours,
Your friends at @XRPLLabs 🙏

Given @Metrolinx record on transparency (or, more precisely, lack thereof) it raises the question of a deliberate/convenient omission
English

@PaulaFletcherTO The @OntarioLine truck safety plan doesn't show anything for hauling away the fill from the tunnel boring machine going into the Carlaw Avenue (Gerrard Station) site?
There is the Riverdale Utilities relocation but nothing specific to Gerrard Station.

Against all odds. It's time for financial freedom for every single individual and business out there. At @AnodosFinance, we will fight for decentralization, privacy, and being able to transact anytime, anywhere, anyhow without any gatekeepers.

The need for banks is disappearing. They are inefficient, insufficient, and only give you headaches. It's time for something new. The first global + onchain + non-custodial neobank built for the everyday person and business. The user will never have to know, learn or care about blockchain or crypto. But they will benefit from the powerful features only blockchain and DeFi can offer.

@BMF100 Yeah that feels like magic. Never gets old. You put in the most horrific offer possible and the XRPL will save your ass, getting you the best possible offer anyway.
You can literally make an offer to sell 1 XRP for 0.01 USD and it will still get you the fair market rate.

What bugs me is I'm a 40+-year computer professional with 20 years of PoS, fiat payments and crypto experience.
If it was that hard for me (the whole afternoon so far basically) what is it like for the muggles?
How does anyone expect it to scale?
There is a fundamental delusion at the heart of crypto's "mass adoption" narrative.
The scaling reality: If someone with my technical depth and payment systems experience gets stuck for hours on a simple "send money" operation, what happens to:
Your neighbor who struggles with email attachments?
Small business owners who just want to accept payments?
Anyone without developer-level troubleshooting instincts?
They don't scale. They give up.
The cognitive dissonance is staggering:
Crypto conferences celebrate "banking the unbanked"
Same systems require seed phrase management, multiple wallets, blockchain explorers, and educated guesses the app data is corrupt
Failures gets blamed on "user education" rather than design failures
The technology might be revolutionary, but the interfaces and processes are user-hostile disasters that will never achieve mainstream adoption in their current form
Who ships this code?
English

I know what you're thinking. How can anyone so kind and handsome be so smart? It's real.
Resolution:
- dismiss Nexus Wallet (swipe up)
- (swipe down twice) Settings > Apps > Nexus Wallet
- delete data
- restart app
- provide seed phrase, PIN and authorize bio-metrics
- wait for sync
- send
I'm a genius.
If the app data was corrupt (as it apparently was) why wasn't it indicated in the interface @nexuswallet ?
English

Why (most) crypto won't scale.
Goal: Send $HNT @helium but not enough $SOL @solana
Wallet even complains about this and offers a way to do it but doesn't see the $HNT to swap for $SOL so won't do the transaction #FML
And you know if I contact support they will ask for the screenshot the app doesn't allow
English

@helium @solana Wait! I've got it. I'll send some $LTC from @nexuswallet
The #LTC in there is from July but the send button is greyed out because the balance is 'unconfirmed' somehow.
try to convert it to 'private' $LTC (whatever that is) gives "selected outpoint not eligible for spending"
English

OK, I'm a long-time crypto pro right? All kinds of fiat payments experience? I got this.
I already have phantom wallet installed. Buy some $Sol via @moonpay through @GooglePay
Get through the @Google account sign. It hangs.
Retry. Now it wants my phone#, verify the code, pops up an ID verification screen for about 5 seconds then ... "We can't read the document"
I can imagine. It's still in my pocket.

Been using @claudeai to develop a book proposal for submission. Wanted to sanity-check it using another #AI
@ChatGPTapp wouldn't do anything without getting paid first
@MistralAI had a better attitude (at first);
"Please go ahead and attach the document and I will perform the checks as requested."
me: attaches document
" I understand your request, but unfortunately, I don't have the capability to directly access or process documents, including performing checks for grammar, spelling, passive voice, or fact-checking."

TLDR: it's the @Apple/Google duopoly. No competition or privacy in the mobile OS space.
