Sowing Faba beans at 300kg is great for the eye, but horribly impractical..... 150kg looks pretty good to and way less work and stress. But great to have a trial.

@todd_venning @agrobaz That’s not the case for lucerne here, it is tapping into water below 1.5 m that an annual crop isn’t getting into. It’s getting a lot of water from the subsoil

I’ve been watching salt patches get progressively worse since 2010, even after a run of pretty dry yrs. I’ll bet the 1st pic will look like the 2nd pic next year. Apart from crop tolerance there’s not a lot I’ve found we can do 🤔 @brill_ag

Here’s the quality difference of the MAP I’ve received this season. I sieved the top left sample and got fines galore. This fertiliser has destroyed a silo and blocks our Horcsh airseeder roller within 3 - 4ha. Needs to be a quality control inspections before arriving on farm.

@agrobaz @HartBrosSeeds I love the winter genetics and the risk diversification they provide. If you can limit water use early in the season (ie eat it to the ground) I reckon they have a real fit in a lot of years. It’s not unusual to get rain late in the Riverina…

This is going to be an interesting @HartBrosSeeds trial to harvest. 2 x 8mm rain events in the past 2 weeks have fired up the long season genetics and finished up the fast stuff. Frosted stuff stagnant and not ripening. #aggrowagronomyandresearch

Soakwell into a hollow that has waterlogged already. Clay was 3m deep. Concrete soakwells stacked on top of each other on a blue metal base. and some coarse blue metal. Pumping water, it’s a thing of beauty!
