We need this in every state, in every public school. No more excuses.

I’m about to blow a lot of people’s minds, but it’s not the “60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.” It’s sixties (60s), seventies (70s), eighties (80s), and nineties (90s). Plural. Not possessive.

I’m assuming we are all at the point in the summer where we don’t know what day of the week it is?

Attendance matters. Due dates and punctuality matters. Behavior matters. Why any of this has become questionable in 21st century schools is beyond me.

Parents - for the teachers’ sake, please make your child (no matter their age) read a minimum of 30 minutes a day during the summer from a book. An actual book, not a screen. Even better, read along side them. Most libraries have incentive programs too! I dare you to give me one excuse why you cannot do this, except maybe your child is at camp for a week, etc.

How did we get to a point where students miss 50+ days of school, still get promoted to the next grade… and then we act surprised when they’re failing?

Some student names just irritate me. Colter It sounds like a comparative adjective. Why is that a name?

Happy Mother’s Day to all the teachers who have accidentally been called mom, the ones who temporarily fill the role of mother for those students who are lacking, and the ones who love their students like their own! 🩷

Dear Parents and Guardians, We love supporting our students, but working after-hours events for free takes time from our own families. Teachers already work unpaid hours. Just like you, we deserve to be paid for extra work.
