Did you know that flies can teach us how viruses cause disease in humans? I was lucky to start working with @nicholeLlink 7 yrs ago to study Zika virus pathogenesis in flies. Here, she and Shinya Yamamoto develop a systematic toolkit to study viral pathogenesis in flies.

The next step is to use protein interaction data with these phenotypic resources to identify pathways hijacked by Zika virus to cause disease.

It is fantastic to have this collaborative effort out. Couldn't be possible without the Yamamoto and @shah_ps groups. We found tissue specific phenotypes with expression of different Zika virus proteins.
